Faster when windows up?

hey,

Me and a buddy of mine started talking about how we were curious if and how much faster the Z would be with windows up compared to windows down, as we were cruising on the highway. Think it makes a big difference or minimal. Just curious what people think really... If another fast car comes up on you, would it be best to roll them up to mess around with them??

Windows up is definitely better. I accidentally ran with my windows down at the drag strip once and I think it might have knocked like 0.1 sec off my time. Not like it takes that much time or is very difficult to roll up the windows anyway.

i would tape up the front grill, all the seams and put wheel covers on too

Windows down at speed will increase drag by quite a bit.

120 mph breeze through the windows on a cool summer night feels so good :icon17:

I was thinking the same. Once you get to 80+ mph, felt like it starts to take a toll...

won't matter at low speeds but if you want to completely eliminate drag, race on the moon

I got yelled at on the loudspeaker once because my window was open at the Dragstrip...they don't let you run with them down

Yeah I think they might have said something, but it was too late. Either that or they didn't notice :p

You probably couldn't hear them over the awesome sound of your Berk CBE.

HKYStormFront 08-25-2011 12:26 PM

yea windows up is definitely less drag, having said that, it's not a huge difference.

:bowrofl:

My exhaust was nothing compared to everything else there. There was one run where my cousin was driving my car against a mustang. You couldn't hear my car over the mustang, even though the mustang was further away. Mine still won though :p
