Navigation w/out Touring Package?

I am looking to buy a 370z w/ sports package and was wondering if you can get the navigation without having to purchase the touring model. I don't really need the leather seats, homelink, etc.. but like the look of the in-dash nav much better than the storage bin that comes standard.

I saw a post w/ pics of a custom Kenmore navi install which looked pretty legit however it doesn't replace the storage bin. If you cannot get the navi on the base model is there any dash kits available which would install the screen in place of the storage bin? Thanks!

Currently there are no options other than a custom build for the storage bin, i.e. buy a ~7" screen, computer with nav, etc.

Negative, you cannot get factory Navigation without the Touring trim level.

Touring + Sport + Nav = One hell of a car, do it! Nissan's oem Navi computer is really nice and one of the best factory GPS units you can buy.

I can't think of any oem navigation unit that can beat Nissan's.

Sold... Sports, touring and navi it is. Thanks for the info!

Just want to throw it out there that the Base model (not touring) comes with a standard double din radio resulting in easy replacement with a double din aftermarket nav such as the Pioneer AVIC-F90BT.

Would that Kenmore be in red, blue or brushed stainless ;)

So if you have the touring model without navigation, Nissan cannot install Navigation system afterwards???

Bump, I'd like to know this also. I wanted the Navi but got tired of searching around for one in my area that was a sport and in black. I figured it was something I could deal with later. Is there anyway to get the Nissan OEM Nav installed in the 370z?

I seriously doubt that they can install this after fact - or, if they can it would be expensive. The unit connects to so many other systems that they would have to literally tear the car completely apart to hook it up. Things like Homelink and lighted door sills they can handle - navi? probably not.

I asked a few dealerships about this situation before I bought mine. The dealerships can do an aftermarket install of the Navi, but it's expensive and complicated to do. IMHO, it's not worth it. I have all 3 options (touring, sport, navi) and it's well worth it. Get it!

The factory nav only comes with Bose, so forget it, just go aftermarket!

Before you make a deal, check out the Pioneer/Kenwood/Clarion options for aftermarket Head Units with built-in bluetooth, dvd player, and navigation. Great options that will give you everything the touring model has, except the heated, leather, power seats.

While aftermarket options aren't as nifty-looking as the factory Nav, you get to keep the storage bin. :)

I'll be totally honest, you did one hell of an amazing job, and I would love to have the system you installed in my Z. Having said that I have virtually no skills in installations so I would have to find a local shop and hope they would install everything after buying all the parts elsewhere, and trust them to to a proper/clean job. Can you ballpark what something like that might cost?

If there is somoene in the Toronto Area on the forums who thinks they are capable of this PM me.
