I hate people who drive whilst holding their phones for calls or texting. In California, I have never seen so many people on their phones or texting. Literally, it feels like every car you look into has someone holding their phones to their ears or they are looking down constantly which makes it obvious they are texting. Coincidentally, these are also the people who are weaving in and out of their lanes, running red lights, speeding, and otherwise not paying attention to the fact that they are piloting thousands of pounds of metal at high rates of speed.

Op: glad to hear you didn't get hit, that would have been truly aweful.

I'm am not at all suprised by how many idiots there are out there, but it is unsettling how many times those idiots have put innocent people in this forum alone in danger, I would hate to know how many times it happens everyday.
Its so strange, in some of your guys cases and mine its not as if they were trying to beat a yellow and it jist turned red. I mean to have people sitting at the red light, the other traffic starting to go and they still blow through it?

Watch out for 50yr old women

Menapausal women are just very prone to cause or at the least not prevent accidents. I spoke to the owner of a body shop who did work on my daily driver who told me its very common . Its true. Ive noticed they are so wacked at times they are often the cuse of many accidents.

Thanks for the kind words. Phones and driving are horrible here in nova as well. Silly folks man.

Also not being judgemental or harsh, but I'm a big proponent of thinning of the herd. Natures way of eliminating these idiots we see everyday.

Here's the problem. Nature can't weed these folks out because our government, in all its wisdom, supports them and they breed. Free food, free healthcare, free (and tax-free) money and free all-kinds of other benefits keeps them healthy, non-productive and fertile.

It is illegal in California also and I see at least 10 people each day texting or talking behind the wheel.

Same here in MD, although bluetooth phone convos are just as bad. The issue isn't that someone's holding a plastic receiver, it's that they're so wrapped up in a conversation that they're ignoring the road. It's just too difficult to tell if someone's on the phone when they use a hands free device.

Brutal 370Z 08-05-2011 12:24 PM

yup, very true.

yaheard 08-05-2011 12:27 PM

DC is very strict about it and will hook you if the cops see you without handsfree. Its not yet illegal in va but hopefully its coming soon. Its true only stupid people are breeding. I had wondered if she did hit what would happen to her. Seeing the guy was there to witness i would hope she would be locked up or a long time. Also as long as I was breathing I would army crawl over to her and beat her senseless for totalling my 2 day old z and being a detriment to society. I still can't believe her stupidity.

Its no wonder the human race is doomed.

Scone 08-05-2011 12:33 PM

Yaheard-it's crazy to see so many people here still doing it even right in front of cops and nothing happen. People here lose there damn minds when they get a call and not to mention the weather. I mean come on, how hard is it to get a $10 Bluetooth??

Yaheard -- you're kind of a "glass is half-full" kind of guy.

That won't fix the problem.

People will still be paying more attention to their phone conversations than the road. Again, the problem isn't just that someone's holding a plastic device in their hands. It's that they're more engaged in a convo than driving.
