Please dont laugh, but I have a few new owner questions
I got my Z on Tuesday and it did not come with an owners manual. I plan on purchasing one but thats no biggie and another topic.
I am wondering where exactly you plug the usb cable in for your ipod? I have the cable that came with the car but can not locate where to plug it in. Ive looked all around but cant find it! Also, how do you hook up the bluetooth? I have it all set on my phone and then press the button so the car will search for devices, but it wont find my phone even when I am just sitting in it. Any help? I think thas all for now, sorry for the dumb questions but Im kind of stumped with this until i get a manual |
I could be wrong because my car didn't come with the ipod kit, did you look in the glove box or center console?
And if you bought your car new you shouldn't have to buy the manual I'd call to get a copy. If not you can get it for free as a PDF online. http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/refgh...issan-370Z.pdf |
iPod plug is in the front of the center console.
|
For the phone setup, what kind of phone do you have?

The center armrest console is correct. A bunch of plugs in there. |
yaheard- check the secret compartment behind the passenger seat. you shall find your owner's manual there....(?) at least that's where i found mine. :D
|
Ok thanks guys:
No connectors or anything in my center console. I have the usb cord but still cant locate where it goes to. I also checked the glove compartment and nothing there. So I may not have one :( I have a Sony Xperia X10 phone. I bought mine used at a dealer. Ill check behond the passenger seat! MAybe a surprise awaits |
EUREKA! She came bearing hidden treasure! I found my manual in that little compartment behind the passenger seat. Thanks Kenchan!

Is your stereo the base model with no nav? There is a chance that you do not have a usb port for your iphone...only an aux port on the front of the radio.
|
Is it possible there is no ipod jack in your car? Double check the center console, it should be on the wall facing forward.
|
Does it look like you have a cup holder in your console? If so, that is a plastic insert that should be removed to expose the ports. Most people remove the insert and never put it back in because of this reason.

Bromotoz you got it. I saw in the quick reference guide to lift the cup holder thing out. So now I found the IPOD jack and the other jacks in there.
Now I am trying to get my phone setup. Little tricky not gonng lie. My phone is on the list that it supports but Im still having trouble locating it eihter manualy or through the voice commands |

First of all... your Z must look at least this badazz in order to get things going properly...
http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6030/...3e46574b_b.jpg Now in the badazz Z... the way I plug into the ipod isn't via a USB cable but a simple mic jack as seen here... http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6015/...169c0853_b.jpg Naturally the other end goes into the ipod (in my case iphone) and viola! BTW... see that misty glow all around? It's always like that in my car because it's like heaven... http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6150/...5706f961_b.jpg When you pair the bluetooth (phone right?) then press this button but make sure your phone is in pairing modefirst... http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6123/...4e5c60df_b.jpg Hopefully you found this information helpful... if not then... http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6025/...315698e1_b.jpg |
BTW.. in my center console when I take the tray out, I only have a 12 volt plug in there and nothing else?

The phone pairing thing is being a PITA. I am following what the quick reference guide is saying to press the voice button on the wheel, then say setup. But the machine takes me to help instead. Ill try it your way and see what happens.

I have a '10 Tour/Sport, NON-Nav, and I don't have a usb plug for anything. I think the plugs you are looking for only come with the nav option.
Sorry, I don't recall seeing, do you have nav? |
Yes I do have the nav. If you have the cupholder in your center console, try lifitng it out. That is where they are thanks to the help of the brilliant guys here!
|
I have an 09 with OEM nav and i want to use my samsung fascinate s as an MP3 player. Can i? What type of cable do i need? Please help. Thank you

Ok I have another question on the bluetooth. When I press the phone button either on the nav system or on the wheel it automatically searches for a blue tooth. It does not let me click pair phone to set it up.
How do I make it so when I click the phone button it takes me to the menu and I can select pair phone instead of searching for one automatically? |
