Does anyone know what this part is called?

Whats up forum. Well sad and stupid news. I was driving thru an empty and dark parking lot and I ran into/ over an island. : (. Now I need a new front bumper cover, bunch of clips, alignment, this other part that I cant find part number for or even know what its called. And possibly more parts replaced. Please help with any info on this part or where i can get it besides the dealer which they tend to run higher. Thanks Z brothers.

Left side is front of car, under radiator.

can't tell exactly which part from the pic. maybe you can put an arrow in there to show exactly which one it is. i see a part that looks alumn. that may be stressed... could be a radiator support or bumper reinforcement/mounting brace. i'm gonna go check my car to see if i can find it.

Thanks.
It is the aluminum piece that is bent down. The left side of pic is the front car.

Cool. Thanks. I found out its not the bumper reinforcement part # NI1006224 cause that one is the the top piece where the tow hook goes. This part im clueless. Ill check that manual out. Thanks.

I have found out that the part that got damaged can not be bought separately. It is part of the cradle. I went to nissan yesterday and the cradle is sold as one piece for $650+ tax. Im very disappointed a little bump on curb is gonna cost me thousands. Thanks for you guys help on trying to figure this thing out. I wish my Z would just vanish in the thin air. I would not look for it, even for a second. I would just hit the chevy dealership for a vett.

Maybe not cheaper, but there is a lot of more vetts in america meaning a lot easier to get used parts. I would think. But anyway mainly it would give an excuse to buy one. All cars are expensive to fix nowadays, specially sport cars.

Not to go off topic...

But does anyone find it ironic that your signature say's not to go to college, just google it. But you spelled google wrong? Going to goggle.com might not help.

:icon18: that's the first thing I noticed as well.. ironic.

To the OP, why not go through insurance? As long as your history is clean you should be alright.

back when i went to college there were no such thing as google... :wtf2:

To the OP, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, youre looking at well over $1000 for a new engine cradle with taxes, labor, etc. You might want to see if a local shop is willing to custom fab a new bracket(if that is the only thing that is brocken) as custom work would probably be slightly cheaper at this point.

You drive a sports car through the dark, hit a curb, and it's the car's fault?

Sorry to let the air out of your anti-Z balloon, but I can tell you from years of Vette ownership... if you pull that same stunt in a C6 Vette, you are *not* going to fix that on the cheap either.

"Goggle" the term "Vette Tax"...

As others have suggested... Take it to a decent body shop and see if they can effect a repair.
