some folks like to save money and get something bigger than just keep spending and spending as soon as funds trickle in... like poor folks buying starbucks for a moment of glorification while others like me just drink the free office coffee and save money for better things.

oh wait, our company coffee machine is starbucks. :D hahaha.

True enough, but I think enough people will agree with me that Swift Springs offer an incredible performance/value ratio versus coilovers. I don't track my car and find the Swifts have been exceeding expectations daily....
having said that, I don't plan on tracking my car so coilovers seem to be overkill at the moment. That money saved can go to more performance mods and refinements like SS Clutch line, B&M Short Shifter, Camber Arms....

im not knocking your post... :) i was just saying in general why not save the money and broaden the horizon if one doesn't have a mod in mind? no need to rush to buy something just because someone's giving him $500.

id just hold onto it until something i really want comes up... even then i still keep it in the wishlist for a few more weeks while i think about the plan.

wheee! 07-25-2011 05:03 PM

True 'nuff. I don't think I will ever be in the SC/TT class of mods and pricing, so a $500 mod is close to the limit for me!

.... then I start thinking of Vestito Amuse body kits, Volks, new 305's, and UpRev... sigh!

What does everyone think of getting EVO-R fang cover and mirror covers? I guess I'm down between that and springs.

I have them, plus the b-pillars n door handle covers. I like them

Invest in Trowe Price Roth IRA or Vanguard Funds and forget it :p At the age of 65, you'll get around $14100. Donate it to your future grandchild when he turns 21 for his 470Z and be the cool beloved bald hippie grandpa... priceless!!

If you are like f*** that, then CF interior parts could be a nice touch for your budget ;)

Looking back at what I have done, either long tube intakes or Swifts and SPC rear camber kits. Obviously with the springs you are going $325 I have spent on a car in a long time. I think my G3s were my Xmas present and my Swifts were my birthday present. My wife rocks.

Another T Rowe Price fanboy! Dont misguide him! What if his company has matching on a 401k? then he could just pick up T Rowe Price Equity mutual fund(only one worth getting) and then diversify his portfolio with Dodge and Cox international. Then his supplement he can throw into a roth IRA that he can rollover his 401k into to avoid taxes. Then borrow against it for a down payment on commercial properties around a rapidly expanding metro area. Of course then the market will crash again, he will have lost everything when he faults on his loan payment for his commercial properties since he can't find renters. Then we will see him dealing crack on COPS.....Or he could invest ENRON.

Its all about risk Vs Reward:happydance:

:wtf2:

:icon17: You almost sound like you had some bitter investment experiences. The what-if scenario are simply endless and I can easily take your valid argument about a company 401k and tell you what if that company was falsifying its revenues like Enron, making employees stock contributions and 401k worthless (Though highly unlikely with SOX). You mentioned diversifying, it is a given that any investor should be doing so and make use of various investment tools let it be 401k/IRAs/Mutual Funds...As far as being a Trowe Price fanboy goes, my experience has been positive so far as shown by the balances with the diversified accounts I have with them :happydance:

Anyways, CF interior trim could be a nice touch as well for $500 ;)

doublea2527 07-26-2011 10:21 AM

I think I'm just going to go with intakes. Yes they are a bit over the $500 price I was looking for, but Springs right now where I live would suck with my current driveway.
