370Z Touring-Impressed!!
My wife bought a 2009 370Z and I bought a 2007 Dodge Charger SRT and a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT. I have never driven the Z until this weekend when I got a chane to take it out without here.
I was amazed by the quickness and response of the Z on the highway. The sterring response is smooth and very accurate. Moving from one lane to the other takes a quick flick of the wrist. The Z makes my Dodge rides look like whales out of water. Now both Dodge rides are putting down over 650 rwhp so its no race on the 1/4 mile. But in a road course, I am sure that the Z would outclass my rides. I think I am going to supercharge the Z and make it a whale killer!! LOL |
it's hard to beat the overall performance, handling and ride of the 370Z for the price….great car!

No doubt a great car. I got mine 5 days ago with 236 miles on it, today it has 812. lol

whale's out of water..:bowrofl:
no offence both of the dodge's seem to be nice cars... after you ride in the z for a extended amount of time and then drive any car like the charger or new camaro you feel like your in the family sedan. just my 2 cents worth... if only nissan ever offers a z with north of 400 hp!!!!!!! |

In the handling department, the Z is definately graceful to a level way beyond its price range. Power comes in smooth and the car is quicker than most expect, especially for those who are new to jdm.

Although not my style, your Charger is SICK. Props on a great build!!! Nicely done.
Appreciate the positive feedback on Zs! After test driving the Roadster, my wife asked me what I thought... "I think it's about 200hp shy of where it needs to be." But hey, that's why I have the TwinTurbo. :) I continue to see Challengers and find them to have about four inches too much sheet metal vertically. I think they would look incredible if they were just a little shorter and had the stance dialed in a bit. I know there are people out there doing them right, but I haven't seen one seen one in person that did it for me. |

Sure the 370z performs great (numbers wise) for the $$. The only issue is somehow, even though it's undeniably quick, it doesn't feel that way. There's a certain numb feeling to the overall driving experience.

Well I definately would like to add more Hp and Tq to the Z but that is going to take some doing as my wife is a very conservative driver. I think my goal would be about 425-450rwhp because it must be streetable for my wife. The question is how best to get to that goal. I have been reading the forum threads on performance and need to find a good builder here in Houston TX.
BTW, here is my Challenger at West Houston Muscle M&G.http://i1013.photobucket.com/albums/...2_613656_n.jpg |
FI & UpRev with exhaust, intake, pulley mods.....etc., etc.....
Good luck & deep pockets! |
A muscle car, hot rod sedan, and a Z.
Now THAT's one happy family! |
See, now that's what I'm talking about. That stance alone make a world of difference. Very nice!
As for the Z, a GTM Stage 2 kit with a nice electronic boost controller is just what the doctor ordered. You can dial down the boost. I run stock boost most the time on my TT but run about 16.5 psi with the push of my index finger (with my hand on the shifter in 1st). :happydance: Quote:

I've driven one before. I was amazed by the feeling. I'm definitely getting this car soon.

Well I am fortunate to be able to mod my rides and I like them show and go!! I have not seen any lowered Z's around but have seen several with TC. My goal is to TC or SC if available. What I don't know is whether these rides are difficult to tune. The Dodge rides are a PIA to tune and there are a hand full of folks that can do it. Does the same hold true for the Z's?
I got challenged by a Mercedes AMG today at a light and was impressed that I kept up with him and then in 3rd gear started to reel him in. He shut down soon thereafter. I would have thought the AMG would have walked away from me easily. |
^^^ On a closed course. Professional drivers. Do not attempt this yourself...
You should not have any trouble finding a tuner in Texas. Sam at GTM has tunes for his kits and will be happy to work with you/your tuner should there be any issues. |
Those dodges are nice, but they aren't sports cars. Totally different kind of ride. Awesome that you can/do appreciate and own both!

Isn't Baker Tuning in Houston?

They have in business since April 2010 and that worries me a bit. Would rather have a company with a longer business record though. |

O and they have been in business long before April 2010 so dont go by that date, not sure how long the tuning division has been around but i know they were there in 09 |
Nice Rides OP!!! Yes, the Z can't hold a candle to your Dodges in the hp department, but in terms of overall "feel" (cockpit, handling, etc) and looks, imo, the Z owns.
