Performance

Just wondering what people opinions are on aftermarket performance upgrades. Do you feel the Z needs it?

How far do you think the Z could be stretched BHP-wise? (if and when a turbo comes out)

Im considering exhaust and cold air intake, and I do think if a turbo become a financially viable option I would consider that aswell. I know some people think its too much but i'd like to take this car to the performance limit.

just trying to get a feel for what peoples plans are.

Take a look around the tech area. We already have lots of data on what mods do to this car. Nobody has released turbo- or super- charger kits, but it sounds like there are at least one of each in the works (a TT kit from one vendor, and perhaps a roots-ish supercharger design replacing the manifold from another). I don't think either is nearing release yet though.

Personally, I think the Z will be where I want it to be just with simpler bolt-ons and a tune.

Ditto... I would like to get more pep in the lower range. It feels like turbo lag. I've driven my friend's '07 WRX, and the lag feels the same. However, I wonder if it has something to do with VVEL and conservative throttle response.

I feel the biggest improvement that needs to be made performance wise is the suspension. The brake dive and acceleration squat are quite severe in the 370Z. Makes it feel very unstable to me compared to my previous cars and other cars I have driven.

More TQ wouldn't hurt.
