my car is finally back from the shop! but..... sad face!

i got rearended a while back and.....
after 14k and 1.5 months in the shop, my car is finally back in my possession. overall Nissan did a good job.

quick list of what was done.
-replaced front, back bumper
-replaced rear quater panels
-replaced roof
-replaced exhaust
-replaced rocker panels
-fixed rear floor plan
-repainted all but the front quater panels and hood

but there are a few corrections that need to be made, lsted below
-Missing spare tire bolt.
-Due to missing spare tire bolt, the spare rim is scratched and will need replacing
-Misalighed back window molding
-window molding on body of car was inproperly installed
-window seal has overspray
-too much seam sealer on both doors(bottom of door jam where the panels meet) and around gas cap
-also a lot of seam sealer in the trunk area.
-inside door handle has spots from chemical used during repairs
-window was imporperly installed on passanger side and makes unusual noise
-y-pipe bent and creates backpressure
-radio is fuzzy. I believe this might have something to do with the reinstallation of the back glass where the attennna is located?
-drivers side rocker panel is dented
-gap under passanger side taillight
-drivers side door panel vibrates with stereo

Im not sure of the y pipe actually causes back pressure but I will have to get with the adjuster since he did not want to replace it in the beginning. that being said I have a Y pipe and HFC waiting to be installed. im wondering if i can get him to pay for nissan to install it?

The body shop informed me that all of this could be fixed in a few days.

Im a bit weary about the respray... this will be the second time the car will be repainted and i dont think they will do the hood and front fenders. I wonder if there will be a noticable difference in the color?

that sounds like poor work to me... why so many flaws? :icon14:

definitely take it back and get it fixed properly. :)

Yeah that is poor work. My 350z was rear ended and it cost over $20k and a couple months to fix. I took mine to a shop that had been in business for 30 years and they had maybe 10 garages. Plus they work on nicer cars like Lexus, which has owners that expect much more than an altima owner. They replaced the bumper, and 1 quarter panel. I have very good eyes but I could not tell what was painted. I was really satisfied. I'm sorry about your results.

Sounds like either an a shoddy tech(s) worked on the car, or it was rushed. Either way, I would feel uncomfortable about the situation and take the car back ASAP. You said that the body shop is aware of the issues. I'm assuming you brought them to their attention?
