Opinions on which package to choose?
 

So guys, i currently own a G35 and i have a set of T1S on order, but the disk on the front and rear are both O DISK, which wont fit front bbk's but would fit the rear.

It would take about a 20-25 spacer up front to clear the akebonos but the front offsets are already -8, so that would be way too much.

Well i am looking to eventually purchase a 370 and i want the touring, but i really want to keep these wheels also. Would you guys think it would be worth it not get the sports package but get the navi package? I definitely want the navi and all those goodies. The sports package, the lsd is my biggest concern,is the rev syncro really that useful on a regular driving basis, wheels aren't a big deal, the akebonos would be nice but i guess wouldnt really be a big deal huh?

Also is the stock lsd really noticeable compared to not having it?

Sorry for the long post, its just i've always admire the 370z, but the thought of not having the lsd and such on a 370 would seem to be a killer.

If you're more into the stance scene, I'd say to just skip the Sports Package and get the Navigation. Especially if you want to keep the T1S and slap them on the Z. Beautiful wheels by the way, both the T1S and GTS.

Beautiful G, it's pretty cool if you can transfer those wheels straight over to the Z. You definitely will have fewer issues if you have base brakes for the extra clearance and to be honest, I have worked my brakes very hard and they perform very well on downhill sections of various canyon roads. I recommend at least the touring package as the leather seats and Bose sound system are a big upgrade from the base. I bought the Touring package only because I plan on adding a real LSD down the road and I know I will be able to find a set of Akebonos and already bought Rays wheels for cheaper than the sport package. As for SRM, I like it but I didn't feel like it was necessary for a manual transmission enthusiast, plus this was my first MT car so I wanted to learn without any aides. :)

@ WTFBBQ, Thats what i was thinking, since i have all the bolts on and uprev tune on my g, but now im into the stance scene, its kinda pointless to have those mods lol.

Btw, is the stock 370z lsd really a huge difference from not having it?


@Christian, yeh i definitely want the touring package for the heated/cooling seats and the bose and such. Those are huge for me! I honestly dont drive my car that hard anymore or plan on to even if i had a 370, more of just a daily cruiser that looks good and has a punch to it!

As for your questions about the brakes and LSD...

- The Akebonos are good but unless you plan to track the Z you probably won't notice the difference in normal daily driving. The bigger brakes are more to help with brake fade with repeated hard stopping from high speeds. There was a post I have to dig up but the difference between the base brakes vs. sport brakes in a panic stop from was like 2 feet.

- VLSD is okay but it is only a small step better than an open diff being viscous kind. If you plan on upgrading to a real LSD then it isn't worth it. On daily driving it won't engage unless you are doing some spirited driving around winding corners or if you plan to do some red light racing with Mustangs so you won't be peg leggin' and even then sometimes it won't engage fully from a stop so you won't leave two tire marks as you would with say a Torsen or Quaife LSD. :rofl2:

definitely get the sports package on the 370Z, definitely keep your G35C as your dd. :p

This definitely makes things more realistic and helping. Since this car would just be a dd that has a kick to it, all of those really aren't necessary especially if im gonna stance it or something.

Honestly, if i could i wouldn't.
I'd get a completely different car for another one, but i like to drive my car and enjoy it daily. So having 2 cars like this, just wouldn't do for me man!

Stock LSD sucks.

Brakes are cheap to add if you decide you want them.

If you're not keeping the rims, no need to pay for them.

Navi is impressive. Best oem nav I have used

I have all three packages and if I could only have one, the sports package is the best value to me. The Nav must be the easiest to replicate after market. I like it purely for the music box.

Getting it all means you never have to look back and say "I wish I had that too..."
