3 Different 370Zs, Opinions??

Hello, I am on the verge of buying my first Z and I was hoping to get everyones opinion on which one I should get. Please keep in mind I am from Canada so the prices are a lot higher for us.

Car #1:
Touring + Sport + Navi
2009
22,000 miles
White Exterior
Black Interior
Auto
$32,500

Car #2
Touring + Sport + Navi
2010
12,500 miles
White Exterior
White Interior
MT
$39,000

Car #3
Touring
2010
1900 miles
White Exterior
Black Exterior
Auto
$37,000

This will only be drove in the summers and I have an 09 Accord EX-L for everyday driving.

I think I am going to prefer auto (no flames please), but I have no problem driving a standard.
So from your experience of owning a Z, would you go a year older and save 7,000 + taxes or is it too risky?

SPOHN 07-05-2011 08:16 PM

I may be wrong but those prices seem high for all those models. Is that what there asking price is?

Cmike2780 07-05-2011 08:17 PM

Not risky at all if you go with an 09. If your concerned about the warranty, I would choose the one newer one with less milage. Otherwise go for the 09 if it's acceptable to you. The only change was the addition of the heated mirrors for the MY 2010. Anyone having any major issues with their car doesn't seem to be model year specific. As with any car, the likelyhood of parts needing replacement increases with milage so be weary of how the previous owner maintained the car.

Red__Zed 07-05-2011 08:21 PM

2 autos and one manual? Nail down which transmission you want.

The NAV is great. I recommend getting it if you go with touring.

White interior stains easy. I'd avoid it.

DjSquall 07-05-2011 08:52 PM

I would recommend you order a new one. The mileage is low, and the prices are pretty close to the MSRP anyways. For a few extra bucks you will get a new car that you KNOW hasn't been abused. I'm quite sure that all of the above have been driven roughly. Also, I'm quite OCD on the new engine break-in for the first 2-3000km. But that's been a debatable topic.

All 370Z's in Canada will have the touring package. Were too fancy for cloth seats. You don't need to mention that :)

Get the navi, it's great. Works very well, I'm quite happy with it.

Don't make the same mistake I did: GET THE SPORTS PACKAGE!!! it's so worth it! The rims are beautiful in the sports, you get big brakes and you also get a limited slip differential. Unless you are planning to mod these 3 items.

I know you didn't mention this, but get the hard top :) the convertibles look good only if the top is down. I think they look friggen hideous with the top up.

Get the latest year model, and get the heated side mirrors. The 09's don't have them, and it pisses me off on icy days.

For winter: get blizzaks. The best ones u can. They'll be around $2000 for a set, and will serve you at least 2 winters. My Z did a great job last winter. LOTS of fun, yet quite reliable when needed. People say get sandbags, I didn't and I was ok. That's up to you.

I think that's enough for now. Go test drive the auto and play around the paddleshifters! They're really crisp and fun to use. Mine is auto btw. Since you're in the area, give me a shout. We can set up a small meet for us York region people and you can check out the differences between everything if u want.

That's my 2cents.

I believe those are competitive Canadian prices.. I've been looking for just under a month now and these have been my best options...

Appreciate the response! Living in Canada I probably won't even put that many KMs on it during the summer year.. and they are very well made cars so I shouldn't worry too much about repairs.
I am just worried that 22k miles is starting to get up there!
How many Miles do you have on your Z?

TypeOne 07-05-2011 09:51 PM

#1 if you're trying to budget... #2 if you aren't.

I have around 23k miles (daily driver) and enjoyed every mile. Also, def get the sports package. Its well worth it. A Nav would be great, but really not a requirement for a car like this. Just think, the money you save by getting the 09 could go towards modding, which is almost a certainty if you hang around this place. It seems like car #1 would be the logical choice. Don't get a manual if you really want the auto.

AlphaSnacks 07-05-2011 11:42 PM

Get the 2010 6MT. The the navi is A MUST for this car. Simply completes the look of the interior with a gorgeous center console in the middle. The interior without nav looks very plain and boring.

I'd also get the 6MT, like I said before in my response to your PMs. If you've owned all of those stick cars, you'll be more than fine driving the 370Z in stick.

djpathfinder 07-06-2011 12:15 AM

For a few $1000 more, get a new one with the options you want...don't settle for anything less (seems to be a lot of give and take in your 3 options). I have to agree...white/light interior will show wear and dirtiness easily. As for AT or MT...pick one you prefer more. The nav is cool because it's bundled with bluetooth functionality...and 2011 models have an OEM back up cam.

Fastfatdude 07-06-2011 01:00 AM

just curious, what does the white interior look like?

Looks like it will turn black after just a month

BennytheBlade 07-06-2011 01:08 PM

Whatever you do, dont get a Z w/o the sports package.

I had it on my 350Z, stayed clean just fine. I cleaned it every year, and the seats were never that dirty.

kenchan 07-06-2011 03:10 PM

i didnt read the entire thread. this would be my choice out of the 3:

Car #2
Touring + Sport + Navi
2010
12,500 miles
White Exterior
White Interior
MT
$39,000

Mt Tam I am 07-06-2011 04:36 PM

I have the '09 sport Nav touring with 6MT. I like the comfort of the touring package but of all the Nissan variants I have to say the sports pkg is the best for the money. I can take or leave the Nav but I have come to like the music box feature.

I can not imagine an auto Z for recreation on the week ends. But if you are comfortable with an auto, perfect, fewer choices to make.

I have the light interior too and have not had any cleaning issues yet.
I like it because of the sun. My seats are not cooking when I get in.

Good luck.

Arnold dont hate on my non toying navless interior ! Lol. I like my HU and nav and enjoy putting my wallet and ez pass in my sweet cubby.

Lol on topic I say car 2 or 1 if you want auto and dime extra cash.

gr8-wrx 07-06-2011 07:38 PM

As a 2nd car, how many miles per year will you be driving the z? Will the warranty expire due to mileage or age?

Fastfatdude 07-07-2011 01:52 AM

hmm.. we never had that white interior option in Singapore....would be nice.

Arkaine 07-08-2011 05:33 PM

Appreciate all the responses!! Gave me some good direction on what to look at. I agree with the above posters that I definitely need the sports package.

Extra dime is fairly important right now since I just purchased a house.. so I should definitely take that into consideration.

I have no clue what total miles will be per year.. won't be much though!
The warranty will definitely expire because of age and not mileage. My Accord that I currently have I don't even put 7,000miles on it a year as my DD. 4km drive to work and company car for long trips.
Why do you ask?

I agree. Plus the 2010 has DVD playback, hi-res screen, better USB Ipod/iPhone support and more recent wiring harness for adding a backup camera from bdl99

BrianMSmith 07-08-2011 08:07 PM

Have prices gone up? You need to offer much lower price and walk away.

I got a brand new (300 miles) 2009, touring+sport+nav+splash guards+clear bra+lojack+tinting for $37,750.

wheee! 07-08-2011 08:32 PM

Canadians pay a premium over the US customers.... the deal he was offered was actually pretty darn good for up here...

:werd: These are by far the better prices I have found and I have been looking for almost 4-5 weeks now.
Keeping in mind I will only buy a white one, so that limits my options significantly.

AlphaSnacks 07-08-2011 10:20 PM

Do you want an interior that looks like this:

or this:

http://image.automotive.com/f/featur...Z+interior.jpg

I'll take fully loaded every single day.

We don't have a base modle in Canada, we start at the touring edition, with a base price of 40,500, so it wouldn't look like that anyway. base for us is the 6 disc indash and leather, etc.

That being said, i would get the sports pk, color, and tranny is up to you, if you don't think you'll drive much save the bucks and get the higher mileage one. i'm at 75,000kms+ on mine with only a few problems, all were covered under warranty. and none were mileage related, just random things that could have happened anytime.

AlphaSnacks 07-08-2011 11:25 PM

Just having that ugly cubby alone bothers me. The climate control and Bose stereo on the loaded model just looks so much nicer in the console area. And the navi system completes the look.
