BTW, my 3M guy told me to explain to everyone that the stuff he is using is NEW from 3M. DiNoc is the OLD stuff. This new stuff he used on my rear valence (and will use on other stuff) is called ScotchPrint 1080. It's supposed to be easier to work with, and really made for automotive, as opposed to DiNoc. Also, the texture is better.

I really need to take a pic (DSLR) of the rear valence he did. My installer rocks. I'll do it tonight after I detail my car.

im not sure if they are easy to remove or not cause my illuminated ones came on the car when i bought it. check out the service manual how it's mounted.... probably would just take some tugging and pulls out.

oh? scotchprint 1800, huh? ok, let me check with my source as well...

yes, please post picts of valance!

FromG2Z- i checked carbonfibergear but they still only have the DiNoc.

i need to do some research on the scotchprint. thanks!

Scotprint 1080 (not 1800)... here's the results after a quick google

3M? Scotchprint(R) Wrap Film Series 1080

also about the kickplates, I thought I saw a DIY on this forum about installing the kickplates... so maybe I can just reverse that.

And yes pics! :) I'm embarassed to take pics of my dusty car :D

Yeah my guy was adamant I correct my statements (1080 and NOT DiNoc) because it's a new product, and he's like the only one doing it in the state thus far.... way cool for him if I boost his business :happydance:

oh ok, cause i http://a.l.yimg.com/a/i/us/sch/gr5/a...logo_promo.png 1800 and came up with nothing... :D

Alright.... I got a chance to detail Zena (ONR wash, plus Supernatural Hybrid) and take some better quality pics. So here's what I had done with the rear valence. I had my installer use 3M Scotchprint 1080, which is the newer and better automotive version of DiNoc.

This is also the stuff I want to have my kick plates wrapped in. (BTW, has anyone wrapped the black plastic portion of the kick plates only? if so, pics please!):tiphat:

Does anyone know if I have to remove the interior trim to remove the illuminated (does it matter) kick plates? I want to get it wrapped today, but I tried removing it last night for my installer, but stopped 1/2way for fear of snapping or breaking something.

Anyone have any input?

yah, i posted the tool i'd use on your other thread.

btw, i believe there's double stick tape to mount the ilumi-kickplates so this is probably why you are having a hard time pulling it off. keep a gentle pull and see if the tape works itself off. :)

FromG2Z 07-06-2011 10:40 AM

yeah thanks Ken, I saw that... I was just concerned I had to remove "other" bits before I could actually remove the outer kick plates themselves. I have removed other interior panels and kick plates before, and none of them were as hard as this.... hard as in, it won't BUDGE! It's flexing a LOT. Am too worried it would snap. Perhaps the double sided tape is the culprit?

there was a guy that changed the orange to blue light... run a quick search for that thread and see if he can give you some pointers. :)
