In Tokyo Right Now... Z Pictures Added

Hey there everyone! Well I am in Tokyo right now through 2 May, and am wanting to know if anybody has any suggestions on places Z related to go. I already checked with the front desk of the hotel about arranging a factory tour. Apparently the factory is closed 25 April through 5 May for some holiday. WTC?! I wanted to see my Z being built!

At any rate, any tips on any other shops or places I should go that are Z related would be much appreciated!

edit: pictures posted in posts further down.

Thanks,
Brian

If anybody would know I would guess AK 370Z or MC. They're Nissan whores :D

Go find the DriftKing. Hes in a parking garage somewhere. Also go check out the "love hotels". And eat hello panda and poki. Then go harrass the cosplay kids. Also watch out for godzilla, he has a bad habit of wrecking the place.

I know its not Z related but I am sure it would be entertaining.

Sha Sha Shabooya!!! Red light district! So many great places to visit. I'm jk about the redlight district though. Eat some Kobe for me, have some korean bbq, enjoy real sushi, goto takashimaya. Ride the bullet train to Kyoto and maybe be lucky enough to see a real Geisha on a side street. Buy sake in a convenience store. Take pics of crazy cars you never seen before, goto a cool night club. Stay away from the Yakuza....

Great advice from all of you! ha. Yeah, I am actually deployed out here in japan (not tokyo, though, this is my first visit...). I went and visited the main nissan gallery showroom in tokyo, took some pictures of the Z's and GT-Rs they had there. Also took some pictures of the 'brochure' of the Tochigi Plant that the Z's get made in. It is a bunch of crap that the Factory is closed April 25 - May 5 for Golden Week, but holidays are holidays...

Oh, and fysa, I will be back from deployment mid-July (back to southeast US). Can't wait to see the delivered Z...

Where do I find vendors for parts!

I bet you're enjoying yourself immensely, but can't wait to get back to the Low Country :icon17: I'm in Charleston BTW.

I just got back from another business trip to Tokyo this very weekend. Been going there on business for the last 15 years. Seems you already found the Nissan Gallery showroom in Ginza. They have two, the small one right off the main street and then their HQ building.

Yup, too bad about the factory tour. The first major holiday in Golden week starts on April 29, it honors the last Emperor. The last one, Children's day, is on May 5th.

As for vendor parts, I don't know of a Nissan specific shop, I'm new to Nissans. But for all kinds of aftermarket stuff (including Nismo) I'd suggest you pay a visit to Super Autobacs. They've got locations all over Japan, but the store I like is in Tokyo Bay (Shinonome), it's huge.

オートバックス ドットコム - お店のご案内 - スーパーオートバックス

The Tokyo Bay store is very easy to get to. Start from Tokyo station, take the Keiyō line to Shin-Kiba. At Shin-Kiba, transfer to the Rinkai line and get off at Shinonome (it's the very next stop IIRC.)

From the train platform at Shinonome station you can spot Super Autobacs easily, it's a 3-4 minute walk from the station.

Yep, you are absolutely right. Main Gallery in Ginza.

Here are some pictures for all of you. As I said before: note the price on the GT-R!

I am going to go to the fish market and then over there. I will take pics of interesting items and post them. I will also see about getting items back to the states: i.e. buying some things myself or getting order info from them for the rest of us to order parts they want.

edit: okay, I just returned from Super Autobacs. I think it may have been a bit overwhelming... There was a lot to choose from. Here are pictures of some of the stuff they offered: including a 'pistol grip shifter' :eekdance:

I bet you could make a lot of money on this forum if you could find some rails for Bride seats lol.

That Purple GT-R is not an ordinary GT-R, it's the Spec-V. No word if the Spec-V will make its way to the US. That's why it has a price of ~150K USD.
