Which exhaust system did you choose and why?
 

I know i know, search function and i did.. most thread regarding after market exhausts didnt give me enough info on what i am really looking for.

I have gone through lots of videos on youtube and personally i think those videos just dont do them justice cause of the sound quality,


i am leaning towards Berk's catback and HFS cause they give more of a growl but i wish i can hear one in RL before making any decisions.

so if you dont mind, help me out and throw me a couple of suggestions.

I went with HKS because of the Quality and the sound it makes, and it got even better when I put the Fast Intentions Long tube headers on it.... Not to mention the power I made also..... Check my Journal thread it has links to videos that are HD1080p as long as you have a good sound system on your computer it will be orgasmic :)

Quick question Dan,

how does it sound when you are not pulling it? is it loud in general or pretty quiet unless you put your feet down on the paddle?

I check the vid, they do sound orgasmic but i think i will attract more cops than anything if i get it here :shakes head:

It had a deep exhaust tone when driving under normal conditions, I really wouldnt think that you would get into trouble with this combo aslong as you dont rev infront of cops or drive dumb.

Another good way would be to use the search function, choose to perform an advanced search, use the drop down to indicate "search titles only" and use "journal" as your keyword. The great thing is that there are a number of members that have started journals to chronicle their modding progress so we can live vicariously through their experiences. :tup:

Invidia Gemini's. Why? Looks, sound, quality, cost. I went with the Ti rolled tips.

I went with HKS because of the JDM Quality and lower car friendly. The exhaust sound is great with HFC, not to mention the power gain. It’s quiet and civilizes in the cabin during cruising so you can take a long ride, but comes alive liked a beast when you gas it.

3" stainless Y and muffler delete pipes. Very cost effective, the sound is amazing and always easy to change up.

I am interested in the TopSpeed setup mainly because it seems to sound nice and still be easy on the wallet.

Invidia gemini. It has the added benefit of being relatively inexpensive, but I chose it because I felt it had the best sound of any aftermarket system. Not too loud, but adds some throatiness, and matches the sound of the Z to it's looks.

i would suggest Ark. thats my fav so far. Amazing sound and looks.

actually i was thinking about getting the ark system as well after seeing pics of it. I do agree it looks amazing on a Z, but i havent found a good sound clip that gave me the urge to get them though.

I've got to agree with daisuke. I put the Ark exhaust on last month. I love the sound; its close to stock at idle and really comes to life at about 3,000 RPMs. I really like the looks of the Ark exhaust too, it looks really aggressive. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is how low it sits, but I think I can make some quick adjustments the next time I get the car up.

what do you mean by the way it sits? are the tips not level?

Greddy tic exhaust. Total beast. No clearance Issues and makes a statement

theres a whole thread in the intake area about the ARK.

No, the tips line up nicely. The mufflers and right in front of the mufflers hang low.

CNT Racing with test pipes. I was going to get the Fast Intentions exhaust, but I watched a few videos of the CNT abd a deal came along and I pulled the trigger. This Exhaust is similar to the Ark. It is docile when just cruising, but when you put your foot down, the power and sound come alive.
Therer is a metal cover on the back passenger side that needs to be modified for the exhaust to fit. My guess is the FI needs the same mod.
