Hi there, I just bought a 2009 370Z touring with sport package. It has an automatic with rev match transmission. I bought it from an insurance company, with damage to the rear of the car. It needs left rear fender, lift gate, bumper, all rear lights, internal bumper, etc... My first thought was to put it back to stock, but after looking at a few "aftermarket" websites, I thought it would be fun to modify it.

I'm a novice when it comes to cars, have been a "truck guy" mostly. Would you experts please give me some contacts to shop for quality parts at reasonable prices? Feel free to include your opinions of how you would modify a car with this type of damage, Ie: body kits, fender, spoilers, etc.

Thanks,

:pics: Pictures would help. I also do not think that there is an "automatic with rev match".

I am sure after you post some pics you will get more advice than you bargained for.

Good luck and welcome to the Z.

:pics: If you did not buy this car to be a daily driver I would go all out with a track car theme. I'd widebody it, coil overs and consider turbo or supercharger. Engine oil cooler is a must. The auto is computr controlled and revs when you shift but isn't truelly a rev match trans. You got the limited slip rear with your sport touring, good job. I would look into brake discs and pads and stainless brake lines. Good luck, oh and if I didn't say it before :pics:

BTW these are some of my mods, see signature below.

If it is a daily driver, I am not certain oil cooler is a MUST, but it cannot hurt. I don't have one in my car and I run it pretty hard, oil never exceeds 220. In my opinion, the rear end of the 370z already looks tasty:yum: What can use the work is the front. Again, just my .02

I need the oil cooler. I have hit 225*F with it. Before 260*F was common. This is my daily driver.

hmm. I never seem to have a problem. Was mid 90's here yesterday and I was driving pretty hard. Oil stayed about 220.

I guess you will find out once you start driving in hot weather!

I didn't start having oil heat problems until this summer. Last summer my oil temps were fine.

I'm starting to hit 250 pretty easily when I go playing with it.

If you stay under 4500rpm constantly, you probably won't have oil temp issues. But if you like to play with the car, like I do, it can become an issue.

Thanks for your input... Your right, it won't be a daily driver. I'm using it for "track days" and training schools and some street driving. Would you refer me to some reasonable sites for aftermarket parts. Thanks again,

I've used www.stillen.com www.evo-r.net start with these and 'm sure others will chime in with others.

90*F + days in Jersey and I have never seen a temp above 225 and I like to play with it. Perhaps my defintion of play is different than Shados

Well, I like to set a small fire under my engine, you know, to make it run hot. Also, I like to dress in a thong and a tye-dye tshirt and nothing else. Occasionally I stuff rags in all of the ventilation the car has.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

In all seriousness, though, I think mine may be related to having older air filters, but I won't know until my new ones arrive.
