I will say one thing about the seats, I know when I push my head back on the head rest, I can feel the stems from the head rest pointing into my back...I always felt that was kinda cheap

I say its weight savings...so F it :)

I hope you are being sarcastic about that as that is the lumbar support built in for rear-end collisions.. lol :ughdance:

This is a whiplash prevention mechanism.

Hey that's like how my lock beep was disabled when I got the car and spent about 6 months without it turned on until I spotted a thread on here about it...I always chalked that up to weight savings.

In all seriousness aren't the headrests designed to help mitigate whiplash in rear end collisions?

I think the seats are alright. they're not the greatest ever, but by no means are they horrible either.

It was a joke man. If you would have spent some time looking around on here before hopping on bashing a community that is here because they all own the same thing you are bashing, you probably would have gotten the joke.

I found the seats were more comfortable on my thighs if I raised up the rear of the bottom seat cushion as high as it would go so I was sitting on more of a flat surface.....instead of having the back of the bottom seat cushion lower than my thighs. This made a rather large difference in comfort for me, as the side bolsters don't bother me quite as much now...

My base seats are a bit too narrow and a bit too firm (or insufficiently padded). I don't think it's a matter of price though, as my wife's Prius seats are much wider and infinitely better padded and more comfortable. But I have no real problem with them. Got them reupholstered with beautiful red and black Katzkin perforated leather.

I didn't want to bring this up considering my other post but anyway, yes the seat is narrow, only mid thigh, everywhere else i thought it was ok. I don't understand this, surely car manufacturers know that Humans are gettting taller/bigger?? Oh and before the Zed guys attack me, i have the same observation about my MX5.

My DD is a G Sedan and sports seats are more comfy there, I found base Z seats to be nice but lack the recline adjustments and I felt a bit uncomfortable in thighs area after some long drive. Got those redone in leather with some extra padding seems to be ok now.

nuTinmuch 06-19-2011 03:27 AM

The seats are too wide. I wish they were narrower.

Yeah, You should try the back seat of the Z!

I like the Z's seats. Or at least the ones at the dealership.

I used to love my RSX's seats, but now they aren't so much comfortable as annoying during spirited driving. I would liken them to a failed compromise between sporty and luxury.

The Z's seem better. All around.
