i drove my other Fit which is AT to work today. i cant ever see myself enjoying AT other than at night, laid back and just cruise with good music in the background in my area. 90% of the roads here are straight and flat. it would be too much just a transportation device for me.

as mentioned in other threads if there are canyons i would probably get a AT on the Z but will also have a S2K in my arsenal. :p

No, when you get down to a certain rpm (1200 maybe?), it automatically shifts.

I think it's closer to 1,500 rpm, but you may be correct (I haven't paid much attention). I've had the Z in the twisties and it isn't an issue at all. Sure, for everyday city driving it downshifts automatically when you come to a stop but who cares? It's no big deal and doesn't affect the fun factor when you want to add a little spirit to your driving.

If you want full control get the 6MT. I'm sure it's a blast to row through the gears in a 370Z without a computer to help you. :tiphat:

I heard they made a transmission option that let you do that:roflpuke2:

But seriously, below 1200 is pretty rough. I think you are getting to stall-risk range there.

Well, like I said, I want to shift there as well. So I don't really want it going below that either. But it's not like it's doing the "stall shake" or anything. I just hate that the car and I both shift at the same time, resulting in me being in a gear I wasn't expecting and with higher rpms :icon17:

If you haven't paid much attention and aren't sure, why are you correcting me?

I do, since the point of my post was to say I would use the paddles more if the car didn't shift automatically.

Very rarely use it full auto. I used to be annoyed by the accidental double down shifts, but after using it in manual mode so much, it rarely happens.
