Man, weird that all you guys go driving with your guns between 4 and 5 o'clock ... what do you do if it gets later in the evening? LOL

I carry either a Springfield Micro 45 in a Crossbreed Supertuck or a Taurus 380 with a laser sight, also in an IWB. I carry both around 3 - 4 o'clock...I have RA and a hip that's threatening to blow out any time that precludes me carrying further back while riding, hence my choice for the auto tranny also. Spare mags ride on the opposite side. Cans and full auto are legal here in SC too < life is good! >. I don't have any comfort issues with the seats in the car while carrying.

Not to thread jack, but perhaps a more pertinent question for me is where do those of us who do carry secure our arms when we go into locations that don't allow us to take our arms with us? Do you have a lock box in your car? A cable and padlock (this is the option that I will most likely pursue, having just purchased the car)?

just curious... what percentage of American's carry handguns anyways? As a Canadian, you pretty much have to be a police officer or Brink's guard to carry. Even us soldiers have to move heaven and earth to get a license let alone a permit to carry. You can get a transport license, to and from a range, no deviations... but anything else is almost impossible.

not as many as you would think. i'm ex military and do a lot of competition shooting. i would like to think i could assist/prevent in bad situations if one were to happen. my training and experience just reminds me that the situation can always be worse armed or not.

Depends on your local laws. In VA, the glovebox is good enough, so that's where it goes. I pretty much never leave my piece in the car though.

I rarely go to places I can't carry, and I try to leave the piece at the house when I do.

I am curious about how many who carry do so legally.

I suggest you get a handgun case that can bolt into the floor of the car and comes with a combination lock or key lock or both.

It's impossible to tell how many carry handguns, legally or illegally. With that in mind, I carry mine most of the time because I don't want to be caught unprotected or get involved in something that needs my attention.

In the US, every state has a different law regarding permits to carry.

Again, that would almost be impossible to tell.

Work for what? Tricks on the corner? :roflpuke2:

Hambone1 05-30-2011 09:47 AM

I carry legally, and in response to the question about securing your piece in the car if you have to leave it, I don't personally have this but I have seen lock boxes universally designed to fit in the footwells of the car, black plastic and cabled down. I'd have to hunt for the link

Red__Zed 05-30-2011 09:49 AM

Yeah, it's tougher to lock a box down in the Z though, unfortunately.
