My point is that if Mazda had done a better job with the car, they wouldn't put themselves in a situation where they ruined the car's reputation and the overall performance of the vehicle. If you are going to go around spreading rumors, at least get your $hit straight. I don't love the RX-8, but I don't hate them either. I just hate to hear all these people pissing on it because some idiots don't understand how the motor work or some people are too lazy to check the oil level.

and i don't disagree with you either, the renesis engine in the RX-8 did solve some of the problems from previous designs, but was poorly executed in the first gen RX-8's. As for the responses you are getting from other people i think that mostly has to do with your little outburst, because no offense, you come off as an @ss when you start calling people idiots and retards. It's quite alright to disagree with people and voice your opinions, but it's another matter altogether when you start insulting people that in my eyes also have valid points about the RX-8. In summation, yes the rx-8 is a great all around sports car with it's own set of flaws, but that also goes for every sports car on the road today including the Z and as for the poor sales figures, in both cases that can be contributed mostly to the state of the economy and less on the flaws of each of these cars cause honestly there's not many normal people that can afford the upkeep of a sports car at this point in time.

Nephew also talks about the rotary engine in the RX-8 as something to be cautious about.
I'd stay away. The Z is a whole different league up with n one of those problems.

Yeah, I love the rotary engine, owned more than 7 different models but you would not caught me dead in a RX-8. Gas guzzler, out-of-date, a bunch of problems including complete engine replacement which happened to my friend. Lucky the car was still under warranty.

Once Cossie is done angrily masturbating to Jeremy Clarkson reviewing the Prius, I'm hoping he will take a deep breath and do some careful reading, which may or may not be a foreign skill for him. First of all, I am amazed, no shocked rather, that from any of my comments, he was able to divine that I am unaware of how a rotary engine works. A mind reader, and not only that, a mind reader of thoughts that don't exist. Almost spooky. Your entire little rant was targeted at an imaginary slight toward the RX8, never did I call it inferior or poorly done, I said it sold poorly and was what I considered to be a quirky man's sports car, which is hard to argue with given that it is a singular model in almost every aspect. The 370Z is no doubt a sales failure compared to the 350Z, for reasons that have been beaten to death more than a hooker mouthing off to Mike Tyson. And finally, you make it sound as if I was whispering naughty rumors about the RX8 in the hallways between classes...spreading rumors? Really man, it's cool to relive your childhood and all, but to have a rumor to spread someone has to give a ****. I'm just a dude on an internet forum with one man's opinion.

Unless he works as an exec. for Mazda, I don't think I called him anything. It was nothing personal against him, I was trying to give the misguided soul some facts. As a former stockholder and customer of Mazda, I think I am within my rights to demand smarter exec. running the company.

You have your opinions, which I agree with some of it. Here are some you are absolutely wrong or I don't agree on.

#1 232HP is not a lot in 2011, but it was respectable back in 2004. It's all about expectations. Is that a quirk? Maybe. I sold mine because I expected too much from 232HP.

#2 The FC RX-7 turbo held up pretty well, it was the modded cars and the poorly maintained 3rd gens that had problems. I will be the first one to tell you they have crappy highway or even around town gas mileage, but did you know that they get better gas mileage at WOT than the VQ? The difference is over 15%.

#3 Eco-boost is just a fancy term for direct fuel injection and turbocharging. Big whoopie, they have been looking at it yet they are either too stupid or too dumb to care about it. It's just Mazda as a company, never forward thinking.

Masturbating in the Prius is great, plenty of room and a great AC. It is also a great rain day track car, you should give it a shot and see how well you will do against it. With all that said, I can still hop back in the Z when I need to.

I've heard those arguments for a larger or boosted engine, and it would be completely retarded. You'd get like 5 mpg, and if it was boosted you'd be swapping engines once a week from blowing them.

V6 in the MS6 isn't bad. Plus I'm pretty sure they can still raid the Ford parts bin, I don't know why they aren't snagging Eco-Boost and doing something with it

well the rx8 does weigh less than the 370z, but still lacks Torque. still lack power all around.

hahahahahah on the second thing !!!! thats the perfect thing to say back to him.

It was a joke then, and it's a joke now. It was so much of a joke that Mazda rated the car at 260, when it fell way short they had to buy them back.

False. From the experience of everyone I knew who had them, and knew how to take care of them. The power is a lot less than the VQ at WOT, too. Who cares if you're more efficient if you are losing?

Eco-boost is what Ford calls their new motors. They are pretty damn impressive. I was shocked to see how that motor looked when Ford tore it down after testing the piss out of it. Check out Ford's website sometime if you have not already. Much more impressive than the RX8's 1.3L mill.

That's cool and all, but I still don't see why you bought a Prius. Was there an epic thread about it when it happened that you can link me to?

(Resubscribed and IBTL)

One should not ball break another's choice of a DD. it's likely that the Prius was chosen for it's miserly approach to fuel consumption. It's not as if he doesn't have a Z.

Just my :twocents:

The 370Z is pure sex! It is hot, loud, and rough!

As mentioned in my post you quoted, i said people not hambone specifically and the sentence that i ripped from one of your previous posts was where i drew the line. Other than that i had no problem with what you were saying, just the way you were saying it as you did have valid points in your arguments.

Wow, this is one thread on fire, good thing the OP made up his mind before the whole thing blew up.

Hopefully we can all move on with the never ending bashing on the thread and take this fire out guys ;)

once again, i agree. if i recall correctly, i believe i had said my prius is almost as fast as my old rx8 in a low end pull. i rip it a new one when they deserve it, not randomly over some myths.

my corvette made more power than my 370 at wot, yet it burnt a little less gas than my z. does it make it better? perhaps? i am not arguing what is better and worse, i am just stating something non owners dont know about.

i drive 30k miles a year, the gas i save helps me burn some of the money with my stupid hobby. i dont street race or have to show off anymore, so why am i gooing to lug around a car that gets 20mpg on premium when i can drive one that gets 45tmpg. i understand the z is more fun to drive, but its not fun for me to drive on the street because of the cops and the expense. i also dont have anything to prove as i am happily married, runs fast enough at the track to not shame myself or the car and make enough money. so i am not ashamed of anything.

Whether you are ashamed or not, a Prius just doesn't strike me as very cost effective. Did you get it dirt cheap used, or did you actually pay near $30K for it?

If you got it used, I understand, good call.

If new...wtf?
