Some Z love on friday.

This thread is for the guys that have written threads about Z owners not sharing enthusiasm out on public roads. It seems so many of us go out there and when we are side by side, there's a lack of acknowledgement.
We'll the night before last I was in arlington tx. On lamar when a black 350z and I, a silver 370z were side by side. The guys waved, me and my wife waved back. End of story. Lol

I just needed to say that though it looks bleek out there for fairlady enthusiasm. We are out there. Don't give up hope. We really do have a Z society in that ocean of posers. Lol.

I always acknowledge other Z drivers. I will admit most don't respond though. Miata owners (my last 2 cars) seem to me much more aware of other Miata drivers than Z owners for some reason.

Hambone1 05-08-2011 10:49 AM

This could just be me, I feel like if I try to acknowledge 350 drivers, they usually big league me or are oblivious. 370 drivers are usually much more likely to acknowledge. Maybe because there are far more 350's tooling around

UNKNOWN_370 05-08-2011 11:03 AM

I haven't had any 370 guys acknowledge me at all but I have had two 350's thus far.

happytheman 05-08-2011 11:37 AM

I don't generally see a lot of 370z tooling around, but when I do I try to acknowledge them. Unfortunately it seems that most Z owners I pass up are in a world of their own.

Oh well, I just keep driving with a smile on my face! :)

SPOHN 05-08-2011 12:35 PM

It really depends on the person. I get more waves from other drivers. For some Z owners it's just a nice car. They don't care about the love a passion we have here.

c41006 05-08-2011 12:50 PM

I never get any love from 350s but almost every time from 370s

There just jealous they haven't upgraded yet.

c41006 05-08-2011 12:57 PM

Bingo

oleg 05-08-2011 03:04 PM

I had a few 350Zs about to acknowledge me, but as soon as they see that its an 18 year old behind the wheel they look away right away.

dirtrat 05-08-2011 03:47 PM

I NEVER wave at other people driving Z's any more. After only having 1 person acknowledge me after doing this over 10 times I got tired of feeling foolish!

c41006 05-08-2011 03:50 PM

Why do young people on here always try to find some way to slip their age into the post. just something I noticed

Mr. Q 05-08-2011 05:24 PM

I always acknowledge fellow z drivers, too much so sometimes. I also tell them to check out the370z.com just in case they are not members yet.

southercadesi 05-08-2011 06:24 PM

To OP, thats awesome man. I always try to wave to any Z I see out there. Although I don't have a Z myself yet.

They assume that people care.

Honestly...I don't care if someone's young or old. I'm not going to avoid acknowledging someone because they look young.

Try this next time! :icon17:

You know, when I had my bimmer I was always getting a headlight flash or wave from other BMW owners.

jaedub 05-08-2011 07:09 PM

I wave at every Z whether its 240, 300zx, etc.....However I noticed they never wave back....sadly. So I stopped waving at them except for the 370z.

I'll sometimes give a wave if the other driver looks over, but I usually don't go too crazy with getting the attention of other Z drivers.

I had a nice red 350z let me get in front of him at a busy cut through the other day. It was a young guy, and we gave each other a thumbs up. It was pretty decent.
