I think I understand the OP's desire for all seasons. I also live in NY,and to me driving on a dry sunny day in the middle of the winter once in awhile is nice.
I have the sport package original tires on my car. Obviously, when its very cold outside, these tires feel like they are almost frozen and are quite slick until they warm up, which can take awhile. This is the situation in which an all season tire would appeal to me. Obviously, during a snow storm they wouldn't be safe or effective. |
Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 are going for $756.00 for a set of 4. What do you guys think about these tires?

the michelins worked well in snow here in nc, we got about 8-10 in here this year and i never had an issue even in reverse. as for loss of performance/traction i only notice it when the vdc is off and hell then it spins anyway. all depends on how you drive your car. if its balls to the wall racing all the time, run soft/sticky tires. if you drive it like normal people, get a/s and save some cash.

I don't like to give up performance when I don't have to, so I run summer tires whe I can, but once it is below 50 during the day I switched to the DWS.
I had no problem in the snow and didn't notice the traction loss DD in cold weather, but I don't think you should be anywhere close to the traction edge on public streets. Once the temps came up above 50 again, I switch back. My tire shop stored the DWS for me, so I can just drop the car off and have them swap tires next fall. Did it for ten years with the NSX, only had a couple of slight slides downhill in snow, but I don't drive when the snow on the road is taller than my car's nose :) - wait for the snow plow or get a ride in my wife's Jeep. |

Thanks, Matt |
The DWS seemed quieter to me when I first installed them, but switching back to the RE050 I haven't noticed a difference. Probably depends on the type of streets a lot.
I'm mostly bothered by the debris hitting the wheel wells noise rather than tire noise anyway. |
Congrats on the new z I myself am thinking of getting a z when my mustang is paid off it will either be a z or a grandsport corvette. Is there still oil temp issues with the 370 and how is the paint from the factory on these cars I thought I read on these forums thaT NISSAN BARLEY uses any clear coat and a thin amount of paint. I f I did get a z Iwould get the black cherry color that color is amazing. I would also get sport package and the leather seat package.

Paint sucks, better than the 350 though. Oil temp is a problem if you think it is a problem.

Well as the OP, let me circle the conversation back. Is anyone interested in my Bridgestone Potenzas that are on m 2 day old touring/sport Z?
