The NSX is amazing, but it depends on what you want - compared to the 370Z, it is exactly like Top Gear calls the BMW Z4 - slower, less exciting, more expensive, and less well-equipped (though I'm not positive about the less exciting).
OTOH, visibility is a dream, handling is untouchable, and people film you driving down the street in an NSX :) |
what is the average price of a new m3 anyway as this will prob be my next car
|
wonderful dilemna
what a great problem-which $40k sports car to buy next
gotta love it as far as I can tell to top the Z you need to go to a 'vette or a Porsche which is too much new the Mustangs are a different category ...but all the new muscle cars pony cars are compelling man the new Camaro ZL1 is coming and the Boss is running with M3s I love the USA |
I sold my 06 S2k for a 2010 370z. I was either going to completely mod the S2k or shop for something more powerful. I looked at an M3, Corvette, 335 ic, Cayman, Boxter, etc. My budget was 40-50k. I decided on the Z because it gives you a great combination of performance, options, and looks. I'm very happy. Although I do miss the S2k at times. I would love to get one as a track car in the future.

E46 BMW M3 - meh...an e46 pissed me off tailgating me the other day, so i stomped on it and left him in my rear view mirror. upto the speed limit of course
98-01 NSX - i also looked at NSX's prior to my purchase. however, i looked at the refreshed, newer models and the interior just put me off. acura never updated the interior throughout the model run! yuck 2011 370Z - best bang for buck S2000 - meh. i also looked at these, but its just so common...ive seen so many riced out ones with awful exhausts. it was also hard to find an unmolested one other used cars i looked at: - lotus exige s240 (240hp, whining supercharger behind your head in a go-kart....:driving:) - cayman s..maintenance turned me off - higher mileage gt-r....again maintenance turned me way off, as well as lack of a proper 6spd. my 2cents. |
I use to have fun with E46s in my 370. Get the Z! You won't regret it.
The Bimmer and NSX are going to be expensive to own. You already had an S2000. The Z is fairly cheap to maintain and very DIY friendly. And it's a great performer. |
Second hand Lotus or Porsche or new Z..... Unless you would consider a Mustang...

Had a 2003 S2k for a few years, loved it. I miss it and wished they hadn't cut it out of their lineup.
370: More torque, better styling, easier to launch S2k: Convertable (I miss, but can be fixed with a 370 convertable), screaming engine, tight (an extension of you) Me, personally, I loved the S2k more than the 370, mostly because it was a precision tool. The 370 is a unique contender that will age. Don't flame me, but I say S2k. If you have an itch to get something else, which I definitely did, get a 370. It will be good for you. After owning 2 or 3 cars in this class, it will help you decide what you like in this class. Please don't misunderstand, I love my Z, but they are very different cars. Whatever you choose, enjoy! :driving: |

I missed the deal on a beautiful 2004 NSX for under $50k. :(
Hopefully everything you see in the teaser picture below + GTM Stage 1 TT more than makes up for it: http://www.the370z.com/members/digit...-installed.jpg |

Or if I don't sell it, I'll have to supercharge it to keep up with the Z... lol |

Get a 2010 Z with extended warranty and low miles, use the extra cash left to mod. :)
