When can we expect news on the 2012 Z?
 

Hey guys, the lease on my 370 is up in a few months and I would like to buy it out. However, if the 2012 Z is improved I might just pick up one of those instead. I was hoping news of the 2012 would be released at the NY auto show, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Does anyone know when we can expect news on the 12s?

I was thinking NY auto show as well.....oh well.

Honestly, it depends on whether there is news. I don't believe Nissan will be making any major changes, so it probably won't come out through an auto show.

aren't they doing a "GT" version.

other than that there will be very little. I expect 2012 to be the last year for the Z for a couple...

Eh, fortunately for the value of all of our cars. We could be like all those people with the DE 350z's...

I called Nissan North America yesterday, the rep told me the 2012 should be out sometime in September. From what i read, the 2012 is supposed to have better suspension, quieter cabin, and not be so coarse as you approach the redline. Not sure. I know the date of the article was April 1st of this year.

Production for the currecnt model year usually stops around the third week of June. Expect some news in August since there was some kind of disaster in Japan that may slow down retooling and production.

So its just another car feel then?

agreed. Few tweaks here and there. New model is not gonna come out........for a while

The thing is, with low 10k range U.S. sales in another thread, I fear 2011 or 2012 is the final year of the Z.

Tell me I'm wrong, say it ain't so. I do not want a haitus like the 300zx.

I'm fine with having the most up to date Z out, and having time to save money to buy the new one when it comes out lol.

If it even gets to our shore, or even produced, Japan's economy is really fcked upped.

What happened to all of those rumors of a 2013 hybrid Z?

Where would you put batteries in a Z anyway? Hide a few 9V batteries in the cubby and call it a hybrid?
