Z Is In.....but not in Garage, yet

Dealer called me yesterday as they were unloading my Z off the truck. I'll pick it up on Friday cuz it's my next day off. He was really cool with all the instructions I gave him and verified he will follow all to the "T."

1. Make sure front spoiler lip is attached, or attach it.
2. Do not wash car. Don't even let the detailing section look at it. (Car is black.)
3. Do not take any exterior transportation film off. Just leave it there to help prevent any rock chips on drive home. (My wife and I will install a clear mask ourselves..fingers crossed.)
4. Do not drill front bumper for license plate. I'll bring my Stillen bracket.
5. No dealer stickers anywhere. I did let him know I would sport their license plate frames on the drive home though. :tiphat:
6. Full tank of fuel.
7. I will not even talk about extended warranties when I pick up. I'll decide that later on after researching some more.

Like I said, salesman, who is General Manager, is really cool with all my "demands" cuz he knows how long I've been waiting for this.

Friday is gonna take forever to get here....

Red__Zed 04-20-2011 09:02 AM

Sounds great..

I test drove mine 2 weeks ago and just made a decision on Monday 18th! The car is secondhand (used) from a car dealer (I'm in the UK) but I have to wait until wednesday 4th May to pick it up :(

I was assigned at RAF Lakenheath from '99-'02 and lived in Newmarket. I miss England...and the Guiness and Strongbow. And all the Indian restaurants. And the roundabouts...

I paid invoice. I don't know if people consider it a good deal, but I did when I ordered and and still do. The nice part about ordering it back in January is I didn't have to stare at it parked in the garage during the winter AND I ordered the EXACT car I wanted with ALL the goodies I wanted on it.

Hope to see you around soon. I heard good weather is just around the corner, but looking outside, I'll have to see it to believe it.

can't wait til I'm in your shoes!

yeah, tell me about it. i got my z last month and still have 1/2 a tank of gas from the original tank when i got it. probably only drove it 5-6 different times. i'm almost at the point of saying "f" it, im just going to drive it in the rain. we only get 6 months of warm enough weather, so nows its going to rain for the first 2 months of "driveable" weather?? :tiphat:

Drive it in the rain. We've had such crappy driving weather here in the northeast, you really have too or the Z will feel neglected.

Totally agree. The only weather I won't drive her in is the type I need Blizzaks for!

So it took about 4 months eh? Hmmmm. So If I want mine by August maybe I should be ordering mine now? Do you know if the dealers have limited allocations on these, or can they just order them as they want?

What was invoice on yours if you are willing to say. I know they just bumped the price recently, but it would be nice to have something to go by so I know they are telling me the truth.

Thanks for any input you can give.

By the way, love your list. I printed it off for reference.

Ordered mine 07Jan2011. About 2 weeks before my order date, dealer put an allocation request out as he did not have anymore Zs allocated to him in the near future. If I remember correctly, he didn't really make a big deal about the allocation process and said he would get a number. When he did, we put in the order. It MAY not have been that simple, but it did not seem really complicated for him to get the Z I wanted.

I ordered the Touring, 6-spd, sport, nav, floor mats, illum kickplates, trunk mats, and painted splash guards. With $760 freight, total MSRP was $41,880. Invoice was $38,426. I hope this helps!

Great attitude. Getting what you want the way you want it speaks volumes.
