Bigger engine?

Why hasn't Nissan put the v8 that comes in the infinity fx45 or the m45 into the z? Couldn't they take that v8 do a few things to it and make the z a vett killer?

not if you want it to cost 30-40k

If you noticed, there isn't much room in the engine bay for any 'more' engine. You'd have a better chance of trying to fit a VR38 from a GTR than a v8 and people still aren't even trying to do that... The closest we've come so far is boring out or a GTR Intake Manifold... :ugh2:

that might be because a GTR engine is mad expensive, and by the time ur all set and done will the mods u might as well have bought a GTR + mods.

Simple, Nissan has a gap to fill with the 370z. The GT-R is their competitor for the vette, and that left a huge void in the affordable sports car category which the Z filled. Not only would a V8 Z be more expensive than the V6, but it would also cannibalize GT-R sales if the two were close in performance.

I will say that a V8 would have been so cool though. I would have definitely shelled out an extra 10k for that.

:iagree:

The GT-R would have to go the V8 route before the Z gets a V8, IMO.

Yeah, from what I've seen Nissan does not believe in the whole bigger engine = better performance. Maybe in the coming years they will release a turbo version of the Z but I don't see them resorting to a V8 for the Z unless they put a V10 in the GTR :D

If you want a bigger motor stroke the one you have and TT it or just buy another car. Love what you have and improve on it.

No I love the z have since I bought my 91 300zx, can't wait to get back into a new one. I was just curious cause my dad has infinity fx45, be cool if they would put that in it all done up for 45 or 50

Nissan will never do that v8 to a Z but I definetly see them turboing the Z's looking at the Juke technology! Unless they come out with the 240sx which I heard rumors about!
