Gonna have a awesome Car with no place to drive

I'm originally from the west coast where there is no shortage of sporting roads to drive a high performance vehicle. Spent much of my younger days scraping pegs and having the time of my life:driving:. Now that I live in this Rat-Hole called Massachusetts, actually Cape Cod,:shakes head: I'll have no where to drive this car in the Fun Zone. The roads are antiquated, full of people and cops. Pot holes abound and signage is terrible. The only place that could be worse is Kansas, no offense to our friends there. So if ya happen to live where you can actually drive the car the way it was designed then consider yourself very lucky.

Louisville Kentucky isn't much better. The roads here are nice for the most part, but very straight...

You have to drive out to Western Mass to find the windy untraveled roads.

If you really want to push the limits of adhesion you can come autocross with us on the runways of Moore Army Airfield in Ayer, MA. I can put you in touch with the best clubs that have the longest courses, and most runs. These are no parking lot courses either.

The cape is good for boats, both waterborne and 4 wheeled versions. Not much else. Nice scenic area.

I remember talking to some people in Nebraska online. On Sunday they would all head down to a place called "The Corner". No sh_t.

I'll bet Mario Andretti himself couldn't go around that corner faster than they could...

Hey if you really want some fun, head into NH and run the Kangamangus highway - now that's fun. I agree western MA has that opportunity as well.
Slicks which clubs do you auto-x with?

Ted Kennedy can hook you up with some challenging bridges to drive over!

Florida doesn't have road problems because the temperature doesn't change too much. In the northern states the extremely cold winters and hot summers cause the roads to shrink and expand, which rips them apart pretty fast

EXACTLY. Drive north into NH VT and ME and you will get tired of good driving roads.

Don't say that. It was 70 degrees here the other day. People were catching pneumonia and roads had to be worked on extensively to compensate for the sudden change in temperature.

LOL, I'm just being stupid... :shakes head:

Hi Speed,

The Ford clubs are the best currently. Low car count (around 50), good courses and friendly people. A lot of them have sold their Ford's so now it's mostly Corvette's, Miata's and other. This year I'll be with NE-SVT, NESHOC, SCMC, with maybe a couple of BMW-CCA thrown in. I don't do SCCA currently as they just aren't as much fun.

This is true for the twisties but if you want top speed then you can't beat the flat midwest. The roads are empty most of the time and you can see for miles for any cops that might be lurking.
