NISMO nose?

If I got a NISMO in black, would anyone want to trade their stock nose for a NISMO nose?

I'm just sort of gauging interest here. I thought other people might be thinking the same thing...

I guess the other route is to buy a standard nose from the dealer. Does anyone know how much those cost? Do they need to be painted, or can you order them in the standard colors?

ill trade you.

Seriously? We'd have to wait until the Nismos come out in June, but I'd definitely be up for it. I'm still curious to see the Nismo in black, but I just can't quite make the nose work for myself.

I don't suppose you've gotten some - er - protection ;) - for your nose. Clearbra or something?

Comparing NISMO and non-NISMO photos, now I'm worried that they won't work together. The side skirts are different shapes, and maybe even different heights. The NISMO also maintains a very pronounced line around the bottom of the car, while the sport is more rounded.

What do people think about mixing and matching?

I don't think mixing and matching is bad, since they do sell the parts to the public. I do like the shark teeth look as opposed to the nismo nose though.

Why would you want to buy a NISMO Z and then put the stock nose on it? :eekdance:

BanningZ 04-11-2009 09:47 PM

Why not just buy the nismo parts? Its kind of blasphemy to disassemble a stock Nismo. Keep in mind that you are paying for that bumper and its value as a genuine part is going to be worth MUCH more than the Sport package one.

OMG! I totally agree about the nose on this new nismo design. I always thought the nose on the 350z was to plain jane and just lacked something. When the 370z came out i was so happy to see the nose with the sportier/meaner looking front end. I like everything about the new nismo design, but they took a huge step backwards on the nose, i'm very disappointed.

The new nismo plain front end:

The stock front end (older nismo design in this pic) looking more agressive/sportier:

Anyways, just my opinion :excited:

Yeah, I don't like the nose either. They should have kept the shark fang look and worked off of that. If I do trade my touring in for the Nismo in June, I will definitely keep the Nismo nose though, I wouldn't want to change anything on a car like that. That would be like taking Shelby parts off and swapping them out for Mustang GT parts, doesn't make sense. The Nismo 370z is a limited production car, and should stay with the entire stock package, that's if you want it to retain it's value. On the other hand, if that's not a concern and you just cant stand the look, then go for it.

That's the S-tune 370Z. It's available in Japan. You can order the kit from our vendors. They call it Nismo S-tune Fairlady Z34

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward just going for the Sport.

It's just difficult - by the time I buy an exhaust, tower brace, and shocks/springs, I'll be up at the cost of the Nismo - and I still won't have wheels with the proper offset (*(@# Nissan). Dropping two grand to replace the Sport wheels just to get the look the way it should have been in the first place is just depressing.

The parts I'd get aftermarket - Ti exhaust to save weight, and coilovers - will probably be better than the Nismo parts - but still, it's a pain in the butt. I just have a feeling that if I get the Nismo, I'll have to be too careful driving it on our crappy roads. I think the short overhang on the regular Z allows a great compromise between looks and ability to handle driveways and dips, while the Nismo nose is just too long and low, unless you live in suburbia or are at the track.

Well, I've got until June to go around in circles, unless I just bite the bullet and go with a Sport. I wish I could drive them both...

The NISMO nose looks HOT. i have a sports/base model and i love the car but i aint really feeling the shark fang look. i mean i dont mind it and it looks aggressive and all but when i saw the Nismo nose, i was like wow! it looks SEXY. looks plain, simple, but sexy. i dont know about yall but i like Simplicity with style. the No-Fang look is simple but the little chin makes it look Sexy. IMO. i hope they put that on sale. (nismo nose and parts) i'd get that nismo nose for the 370z EARLY! the S-Tune z34 looks whack to me.

Do you know the difference between the S tune and the nismo?
I think the S tune nose looks much better. The nismo is to big.

And that's why they now make cars in different colors.
