one way is to use the clip that comes with the radar detector and clip it into the ceiling at the top of the glass. route your wire along the ceiling liner down the a-pillar to the fusebox.

But then it doesn't have rear visibility, does it?

I thought about that, but didn't want to ruin the headliner trying, lol.

It's too late though, I bought the Blendmount, I have to use it. :icon17:

What cracks me is that every sunshield I have ever used comes with a warning that says not to drive with the shade in place.

Have you found a way around it? I'd rather not have to reset everything once I get back into the vehicle.

No, I haven't found a way to use both easily. I have a temporary "solution" that I'm too embarrassed even to describe. I'm still undecided about my long-term route as I really like both the Blendmount and this particular shade. I will probably end up going with a more flexible sun shade that I can "unroll" or easily bend to get it underneath the Blendmount.

It seems that this particular sunshade could have worked with the Blendmount IF it had more vertical folds (especially in the center) or one horizontal fold. I may try to crease it horizontally prior to ordering a different sun shade, but I'm not to that point yet. And I'm not sure that it would still stay in place if it were creased.

From the outside you can't really tell it's there, TBH. It being so dark inside w/a black interior.

Yes, this is one of the big attractions of the Blendmount to me. Plus it seems to position the radar detector almost optimally. I considered using a visor clip, but that position looks as if it would be really poor in the Z.

What if you unfolded part and slid it behind from the side of the detector and continued unfolding from there. Would that work?

Just curious.

Can't be done. Or at least I can't do it. The folds in the shade are too wide to fit between the windshield and the Blendmount/radar detector. That is what I meant above when I said it might work if the vertical folds were closer together, especially in the center.

It's hard to visualize without actually doing it. I was convinced it should be able to work like that even after the first couple of times I tried, but I have not been able to get it to. The way this shade is designed it almost has to be unfolded horizontally, the bottom placed against the base of the windshield, and the top of the shade raised to the windshield.

Or maybe it's just that I can't figure out how to place it without removing my radar detector from the mount.

I purchase the covercraft style sunprotector for every vehicle I've owned. Every single one has lasted longer than my time of ownership, although I wonder if it'll stand the test of time with my Z since I don't plan on ever selling it. Excellent cover, quick on/off, hides easily. No issues with radar detectors, but I don't use one either.

With the provided options, I'm not too excited about either of them. The only option I don't see in this thread is an actual order from covercraft.com. I ordered their premium which was on sale at $74. I also got free shipping (otherwise $16) by opting in for their promotions.

The bad news is built-to-order, estimated ship date August 11 2021 hahaha.

Here's a link to the product ordered - Part # UV11103GS
