Apparent Rear Hatch Opening Technique Discrepancy
In organizing my Z portfolio today, I came across the quick start-up guide. It actually states that you have to press the rear hatch pad two times---once to "unlock" and 1.5 seconds later, again to cause the hatch to open.
I thought owners were upset because the hatch wasn't opening with just one touch of the pad. This manual indicates that two taps being needed are not a sign of a defect but actually are required to make the hatch function and open, as designed. Can anyone reconcile this discrepancy? Does this guide mean two taps but refer only situations when the doors are locked? No big deal----just actually curious. |
On mine, one touch of the center (longer) pad will open the hatch, whether or not it's locked. The round button to the left will unlock only the hatch on first press and unlock the other locks (doors) on second press. Not sure if that helps you or not.

Does your pop open and travel to the top of the range of the gas struts after you push the button? I have to pull mine up at the same time as pushing the button.

No, it lifts up 1/2 inch or so, enough for me to lift it up manually. I haven't seen anyone's pop open all the way...is it suppose to do that?

Good. Didn't think so. The trunk button on the key fob is a different story though.
Just kidding! There isn't a trunk button. :roflpuke2: |
