Looking to buy
I have been looking to buy a new z, I had 91 300zx. I have drove a 09, it's still new at the dealership. They want to deal on it sticker is 39,800. I was thinking since it's a 09 still on the lot asking them 32 for it. What do you guys think is a fair deal?
|
really depends on what options, mileage the car has which impacts the price.
i would opt for 2010 if u find one. |
Fully loaded no nav, 200 miles
|
That's what I paid for my 09 with touring and sport package. That was 12 months ago.
Like sucasa said it does depend on mileage and options but even if it's a touring and sport, you should be able to do better than 32. |
I'm just going to have to sit down and deal with them. I love this car feels great to drive. I loved my 91 z. Well the new ones blow it away.
|
I think thats high for a 09 leftover at this time. You can even get a 11 at that price not fully loaded though. I also think you should do better than 32 if you want that car. Good luck.
|
widen your search
around here we have a dealer that still has '09s
that's because they won't deal you may need to travel to get the best price-I did I wonder if the supply of Z's will shrink? if so.... |
thats to high for the 09. i bought my 09 last may of 2010. for 29.995
also remember if you get the 09 your are really buying a 2 year old car. |
the 2009 are leftovers sitting in lots. Check the VIN numbers, which may be in the range of production cars with the low engine oil issue. Before u buy a 2009, get the VIN, and compare it to the TSB to make sure your car is out of the range of cars which potentially had problems.
Secondly, not sure if 2010 and above models were impacted but the PCM module issue with starting up was encountered by forum members (2009) models. do the research, less headaches down the road. |
Seems high (the sticker price that is). Nice touring/sport combo, though!
|
they are taking into affect the japan tsunami! lol
|
So the 09 370z new still at dealership sticker is 39,700 all they will come down to is 33,143 really that's all they will go down. Guess they don't want to get rid of it.
|
I would just walk away from it. Do you really want a 2 yr old brand new car.The 200 miles are probably from test drives while on the lot. If you can, try to get a leftover 10 and deal with another dealership. My .02 cents.

I would laugh in thier face and walk off! I paid for my 09 Base w/Sport Pkg $32K OTD. |
i bought an 09 last june with touring and sport for $32. you should be able to get it lower than that. where i live they dont sell too many z's and the dealerships only keep one in stock. sometimes 2 (a nismo and a regualr z).
|
My same thoughts. I don't have to buy but at some point they have to sell and not with that kind of dealing. Say I bought it 2 years ago and put 200 miles they want to screw me on a trade in
|
They don't sell to many z either cause well as you can see don't want to move on the price
|
look at the blackbook and see how much an 09 with that option and 200 miles is...
|
On 7/2010 I bought a 2010, They came off the sticker $5300..and your dealer will only come off the sticker $6500 for a 2 year old?
Walk away! |
ok ok... I feel it is my duty as fellow member here on this forum and as a fellow Iowan to inform the OP of the issues surrounding this. First off, I am from the area, so I know about Jim Miller Nissan in Cedar Rapids.... WHAT AN AWFUL DEALERSHIP. Walk away right now... There's a reason why I (along with many other "smart" consumers in the area) didn't buy mine from that dealership. They have a great service staff (Tom), but the sales dept blows.
They have 3 or 4 roadsters that are 2010, and those have been there at the end of 2009 and spring of 2010. There's a REASON they can't move these cars. They don't move on price and screw people over. And as for that 2009???? Guess how long THAT's been sitting on their lot. Sheeeesh... they think that just because they're in a small town, that people are dumb enough (some are) to pay window sticker or a little under sticker. I'd be offering 25k for that piece.... no more. They're retarded for asking 32k. If you think about it, they are selling it for 32k which is around invoice for a 39k sticker right? approximately? So put it this way, I paid WAY under invoice for a new 2010 at the time. They want "around" invoice for a TWO YEAR OLD car? So retarded. Plus, just think about the manufacturer's warranty... granted, they may "start" it from date of purchase but you need to make sure. If the dealership offers a warranty through them, it's worthless if you have to move or take it to another dealer for warranty work... p.s. they are ALL automatics too... you sure you want an auto? My 2 cents, go to either Des Moines or Davenport. Bigger volume, bigger option, better deals. When you do get one, let us know... there's 3 of us in town, one blue, one white, and I think a red one. Good luck. |
I paid $34k for my 2010 Z Roadster with sport and touring last month. MSRP was $46k. Like other said...walk away. That dealership will never sell those cars.
|
Like FromG2Z said, you might just have to go to another dealership. Maybe even take a short road trip to find one that isnt in your local area. You can get a good 09 Z with slightly more miles but sport and touring for around 32k at most. At least that is what seems to the norm in my area.

They call me to day and said they do 32 plus fees, still way to much. And buy the way they wanted to give me 12 for my 2003 h2 which woodhouse in Ned has on his lot more miles for 24. What a joke. I'd say away from Jim miller nissan for anything.

Check out my thread on How to get below invoice pricing. http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-p...e-pricing.html
Thats how I got a killer deal on a 2011. I would not recommend buying a 09... Just think about when you have to resell it, its still an 09 (already two years old). just my 2cents |

Hey, if they can be rediculous so can you. |

So $25 OTD would be a good deal IMHO. It is, after all, a touring with sport. |
Personally not a big fan of the 19" rims that it comes with... so i would go with the base and save myself 10k... i would never get navi and instead install a new head unit on my own if anything... saves tons of money...
|
Got a slightly used (7k miles) 09 sport for 25,500. They wanted 30. Play your cards right and you win.
|
just bought a new left over 09 touring (20 miles never owned) for 26k
