clutch smell
 
I don't drive my 370 hard but today on way home on lonely street no cars I dump the clutch bang 2nd bang third car scoots.I was near home and pull in to garage got out and could smell clutch a little is this normal as this is my first Z car.I don't have anything to compare it to as before I drove a lot of chevys.thanks Ken

It happens...

It's fine as long as your not "riding" the clutch. This MT also takes some getting use to.

Depends on your definition of "banging", but like Cmike said it does happen.

yah, bang hard enough and you'll end up with clutch shudder. i would go easy on the clutch unless you're good enough with your timing not to get a jolt at WOT shift ups.

I only get the smell if I rode 1st gear too long, and that smell is aweful and makes me never want to do bad things to my transmission ever again lol

I had this happen so many times on my 350 I lost count. The stock clutch last and handles well. Don't worry about it.

thanks for info.when I said banging gears I meant full throttle power shifts i know its hard on a tranny thats why I won't be do it often.thanks again
