Default Good traffic Lawyers on Long Island?

A very long story short i got a 78 in a 45 only doing 60. i think he scanned the guy infront of me in his pos saturn and pulled me over. guy wasnt on his bike and i have no idea how he got me with the radar. And if i get the ticket i lose my lincence bc i got 3 points be i crossed over a "hazard marking line" in my previous truck. So does anyone know any good lawyers or have any advice for me? cant lose my licence. Just got a great job, Just bought the car, looking to buy a house, and have a side business. Oooo, this is a tough one. You can higher a lawyer and probably cut some slack but most likely you're gonna get a ticket for going 15 mph over. Going 46 on a 45 is breaking the law and can get a ticket for speeding. Speeding ticket is one of the hardest tickets to contest and almost 99% you'll lose.

However, the only way to win your contest is either the Cop doesnt show up to the court OR the cop dont bring the evidence (ex. radar, speed-o-meter of your record, etc)

Well good luck to you and hopefully you dont lose your licence

Drag the ticket out for a year or two. Make a court date then reschedule for "that business meeting out of town". Do this enough times, and your first ticket may not still count against you. My buddy did this for two years until the court dropped his multi count ticket entirely.

Ive heard stupid tricks such as paying the speeding ticket, but when you send a check, send it for like a few cents too much. Then they have to send you a check for the difference. If you never deposit that check, then your case stays open...

I doubt it works but hey who knows...

Alot of jurisdictions have gotten hip to that and want documented proof and keep track if you keep canceling just like they do with Jury Duty, and even have people to verify the info!

Take a defensive driving course? Takes off 4pts and reduces your premium a little bit. Rule in court; usually it'll be a room full of cops going trough tickets. There might not even be a judge. Hand in the ticket to the clerk and he/she will give it to the officer. Wait until he calls you up. Be respectful and try to find a polite way of asking him to reduce it. I went to court yesterday and got mine dropped 2pts and $100 off.

I have a lawyer but in my honest opinion your fighting a losing battle in hauppauge. Take defensive driving takes off the 3 points and hope you get lucky. I also recommend the rescheduling and cancellong process as many times as possible.
Lawyers going to cost 500 And there's really nothing he can do in hauppauge that you can't.

I assume this was a criminal violation? 30+ in FL is a criminal violation with mandatory court appearance. If the officer testifies in court, has his radar documentation (certificate, test log, and calibration paperwork) in order, and gives his account, usually it's his/her word against the attorney who wasn't present.

Attorneys usually bargain with the officers to amend the speed to a lower number, have the fine reduced and request driver improvement school through the presiding judge, and likely plead no contest (neither guilty nor not guilty).

I have convicted an 85/35 with vehicle pacing (no radar, laser) with my testimony alone. Hopefully it works out for you.

im going to do the defensive driving course but idk how long it takes for the points to come off. I tried being repectful and what not with my last ticket and it didnt help at all. but it was a tooper last time and that sucked in itself.

Im going to meet with a couple layers and see what they can do. even if i get it reduced to 7 points i dont care i just cant lose my license.

Were on Long Island did you get this ticket. Depending on the town you may get off with a huge fine for a parking ticket. Small town courts like to do that cause they want the money not the points. If its in Hauppauge, keep delaying the court date as long as you possibly can. Take the defensive class while your doing that so you have evidence that you are trying to be a better driver. It also helps reduce 2 points off your license. It worked for me.

Ouch. That many mph over is a tough one. Here in NJ (atleast where I work)you would get the full boat (points/fine). But trust me, its worth getting a lawyer if you can afford it. Have him state your case and hope for the best.

i took a defensive driving course online over night (took about 4 or 5 hours, and had no quizes or anything...just had to hit "next" every 15 min), and the DMV recognized it within 2 weeks.

Search the forum. Someone posted something a while back on what they did to fight a ticket and get it dropped.

I don't remember all of the details but it involved using certified mail to request the documentation regarding the most recent calibration of the radar detector. When the clerk didn't provide that information (presumably because they are overwhelmed with work) the defendant went before the judge and made the case that they did everything they could to collect evidence for their defense. The judge then dismissed the case.

I think the real solution is that we should all ban together to make a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to drive.

Good luck!

And don't forget. The 370Z is pure sex! It is hot, loud, and rough!
