370Z spec V

Instead of the nismo version they should of came out with a spec V model. What ya'lls think?

MC 04-09-2009 04:43 AM

The GT-R twin clutch is heavy but it is extremely efficient which means more power to ground.

MC 04-09-2009 03:06 PM

helps to equal roughly only 10% drivetrain loss

bullitt5897 04-09-2009 03:38 PM

yea but a $20k tranny that is prone to braking under excessive power is not good. I would rather have a beef'd up manual tranny than to deal with the issues of the GTR Tranny. im not saying its a bad tranny but for that amount of power it should not be breaking! shoot a TT kit on ours will put out the same numbers!

Step 1....remove Launch Control feature. (Nissan already did)

Problem solved. :D

MC 04-09-2009 03:54 PM

they "tweaked" it

It's a generic description Nissan applies to their models to designate one that has sporty enhancements. They had the Sentra Spec-V and now they have the GT-R V-Spec. There has never been a Z with that designation.

enhancements as in performance or just for the looks?

Anatoray 04-10-2009 05:46 PM

Performance. The GTR V-Spec looks exactly the same on the outside.

There is also the Altima 3.5 Spec V. We have 2 Spec V Sentras in the family and a wannabe.. I drive an 08 as my commuter and they are really fun to drive as well as put alot of sports econoboxes to shame. Its way more than looks...larger brakes, better tuned suspension, higher output eng. larger wheel tire arragement to mention a few..

tvfreakazoid 04-11-2009 02:51 AM

YES a 70k Z I would buy ASAP.
Well you know similar upgrades as the nismo with a little more power. Plus spec V or V spec sounds better than Nismo and the nismo body kits look to ricey. The nismo should of been more aggressive lookin at least. It looks waaaaaaaaay better than the nismo 350z but it looks somewhat childish if that makes any sense.
It looks like a 16yr came up with that body style.

A 70K Z better be able to compete with a Z06...

Problem is, the GT-R already fills that product gap. No room for two, and no reason for there to be one...

BanningZ 04-11-2009 06:37 PM

^ x2 there is absolutely no reason to create a Spec V Z. The price would end up being way to close to the GTR and would just make no sense to not fork out the additional dough for the GTR.

True. To be able to market a spec v model of the Z they would have to stay away from the nismo cosmetics. Just compare the Altima 3.5 SE and the Spec V edition. Now in this case, yes, most of the additions are cosmetic but they are subdued and attractive. In the Setra model there is a bit more substance..ie larger brakes, engine tuning, suspension tuning etc... speaking of the nismo edition of the 350Z, I don't want to tell you how many of these units there were laying around the dealerships as I was shopping for my Z...I saw up to 10k off retail...shame, shame..

MightyBobo 04-11-2009 09:42 PM

The whole point of the 370 is to be a cheap, yet potent Sports car. Spec V would kinda defeat that purpose. Whatever they make has to be a leader in its price segment - going above 40K without options means it is in Corvette ZR1 territory fast, which is a game it'll lose right off the bat.

tvfreakazoid 04-12-2009 04:44 PM

The problem is the nismo cosmetics are not the best looking.

Mental Block 04-13-2009 03:03 PM

Cosmetics are always subjective, and I'm sure many will disagree with you.

True.

CantZme 04-13-2009 08:52 PM

Who really cares about cosmetics. Before you know it there will be atleast 10 bodykits out there made of good quality that are sick. Lets just say that, that and the radio part of things should be done a la carte no?

Tim 06-27-2009 06:25 AM

so my friend came to me today...
he says: you're want the 370 right?
i: yeah why?
he: so you're on your forum alot
i: yeah why?
he: so you know a lot about it
i: i want to say yes
he: cause a guy at work (they work at a tire shop) was
telling me the v-spec 370z is gonna cost an additional $100k
i: *pause a minute* really?
he: yeah why?
i: he's retarded -_-

MightyBobo 06-27-2009 06:36 AM

He probably meant the GT-R....but either way, an additional 100K? lawl.

It probably will be an extra 100K for the spec-V GT-R by the time you add in dealer price gouging. It's rumored that the sticker price is going to be somewhere between 150-175K.
