Fluctuation in 370z clutch/e-brake build quality?
 

Just came back from a local NY Z meet in Little Neck, Long Island (http://www.the370z.com/north-east-re...-thread-3.html).
I was talking to 'Arnold K.' who has a '10 Black Cherry model about the clutch adjustment which he had done at Z1. I tested the car going through 1st and 2nd. I noticed it was a 'day and night' difference like others have posted. The throw was noticeably shorter, and it engaged lower as well. I had my friend adjust it the bolt for me and he said it was turned to the very max but the difference was marginal.
Second thing I noticed was his e-brake was much more stiff compared to mine. Mine feels very very light.
His car has ~1500 miles, while mine has ~4700 so wear and tear shouldn't be an issue. I've only used my e-brake for parking so far.

Btw, guys, please reply if your e-brake is light as a feather or firm to engage. My e-brake is quite firm, where as Derrick's could be lifted with your pinky.

Also, our clutches felt different too: mine firm, his softer.

Mine is super light and is worthless unless I crank on it about 4 times. (that's what she said) The 5th yank will finally cause the rear wheels to lockup.

Clutch is tight, I guess. The e-brake is horrible. Maybe i have to keep using it, idunno

My ebrake was pretty damn loose from the factory but I readjusted it when I swap rear rotors and it is much better now.

My clutch take up is getting higher and higher, a sign that the clutch is wearing quickly from my abuse via auto-x and track.

My e-brake is perfectly fine, firm and engages in the first half of its total travel. Clutch is fine as well, I have a 2010 Touring.

Maybe people should mention if they have the Sport Package Akebonos or the base brakes, that could be a distinguishing factor.

i took a late night drive on empty streets repeatedly doing ebrake pulls at 25mph each time. it locks up pretty well n stops in roughly 15 feet or so. i don't know if that's good or not but as Arnold stated, you can literally lift my ebrake with your pinky.
i don't know if the firmness of the ebrake lever is relative to the actual ebrake strength. it's more of a certain to me because i intend to learn drifting on this car.
i do have the sports pack. wit akebonos

It shouldn't matter, the drum assembly is the same for both.

Its ridiculously mental to drift in it. I could with any other car, but you literally have to rip the e-brake to lock up a bit and push back down.
