So, what do you all think? Personally, I think the NISMO car is a rip-off in price premium, but I'd like to do the two mods above...

I don't know, but they sure make a lot of sense on the Touring model too.

If you were to try and put together all the parts of the Nismo edition on a base Z, the price would add up real quick. If you take it all into account, it is and will be a very decent bargain.

But I'm sure the bumpers will be available for sale soon.

I just want the nismo rear bumper and heated/cooled seats. Anyone have a guess on these?

Thanks

Minicobra1 04-08-2009 09:22 PM

I'll take the rear bumper, side skirts and wheels please

The only thing that I had wished for was a thicker steering wheel, and a quick touch lane change indicator. ( meaning a quick 1 touch gives you 3 blinks for the lane change instead of having to hold it down, makes a hug difference )

Neither is offered on the NISMO edition, so I am good to go?

I would like the rear bumper, though not sure how well it will line up with the stock side skirts and front bumper. I think the wheels look nice, but I would rather go a different direction.

I would consider the heated and cooled seats. I've only driven one car with cooled seats (Lincoln, of all the cars) and it was fantastic. I'm always on the warm side, especially on longer drives.

You could take care of the heated part of the seat by just passing a loop from your 'new' oil cooler under the seat.

Rep point for being pragmatic! ;)

Does anyone think the wiring is already there for the new seats, or would this be too difficult to install (new wiring would need to be installed?)?

Thanks...

spearfish25 04-11-2009 10:23 PM

Many of the other cars with cooled seats use a fan built into the seat or pipe the AC through the seat. Thus, you're not only removing and replacing seats, but potentially tapping into the vehicle's AC system...could prove challenging.

Bump: any updates?

You're dreaming....Just the bottom cushion for the standard touring seats are $1600+ each. Add to that the back cushions and all the ducting wiring and motors to make that all work and you're probably headed toward $10K..

I live and AZ and it would be stellar if you could modify the OEM seats to have cooling capabilities.

havasuwiley 08-26-2009 10:34 PM

:iagree:also live in the desert,my lincoln nav has cooled seats,i would'nt mind my z havin them:excited:

Seats - I doubt it - it'd require routing of the HVAC system.

Bumper? Maybe...

You can probably get a real nice jdm bodykit that will blow out the nismo with a perfect fit quality for cheaper. And as far as seats go. For about 5 or 6 grand u can get the sickest recaros on the market right now that make the Z seats look cheezy. Trust me you try to get 2010 nismo or gt seats in your 09 u gonna get raped with no gel. Check out recaro.com I can't remember the seat style name. But its marked in the sight as new. Its leather it has forward recline. N u can customize them fully.
The seats by themselves are 1600 each. Figure about 300 to heat them. Another 600 for cooling? And a few hundred for the power seat install. Which I would only do on the driver side.

Have you asked your local Nissan dealer? They would probably have the best idea. If anyone could do it, I suppose they could and given the mark-up that they'd charge, they'd have an incentive to do the work.

The big question is, in regards to the heated/cooled seats, will they void the mfg warranty.

I think that it probably would void the warranty. The bumpers and side facia and wheels would not.

Just my 2 cents.

Martin
