DorkiDori is proud to re-introduce Sorta.Flush Run #2 and the new Spring 2011 designs

Hello everyone on the 370z.com, its been a while since I was last on here. I just wrapped up the new Spring 2011 DorkiDori designs and due to popular demand, I have re-released the ever so sought after "Sorta.Flush" print. The whole idea behind the Sorta.Flush shirt was for people who werent huge on the whole "hellaflush" scene. The 300z guys loved it, the S2000 community thought it was a riot, you guys liked them a lot the last time I had them out (I know some of you didnt get chance to pick one up) and even some of the 240sx people enjoyed the idea.

So I just wanted to let you all know that the shirt is back out and up for sale. I need a minimum of 50 orders for the shirt by Monday, April 4th. Please see the link below for the sale thread on the370z.com.

Also, I know some of you enjoy my normal shirts as well. I have a few new general auto and DD branding designs out for the season. Check out the link below for specials and the new lineup.

Also, AK and I will be working on a new forum shirt at some point in the near future for all you awesome members ;)

Anywho, I hope some of guys like the Sorta.Flush shirt enough to pick up a few and also some of my new Spring designs.

I think everybody that wanted them, bought them last time... :)

For me, I know you use good quality shirts, but it's not the model I would wear... Now if you could make some cool designs using this type of shirt...

Sorry, not my style. A picture of a wheel and "sortaflush" or any writing just doesn't do it for me (a picture of a coilover and "slammed" wouldn't either). I've seen some of your other designs that I like better, but at this stage, I'm into more understated. No disrespect...hopefully you find my feedback constructive. That's my opinion anyway. Good luck with the group buy #2.

I got too many T-Shirts.

Mr. Q 03-10-2011 09:53 PM

I missed out on the first run. I think I'll pick up at least one this time

dorkidori_s13 03-10-2011 10:27 PM

wanted to repost this from another thread...

so no love for the simpler, more general designs either???

the JAPAN shirt is a play on the whole "Import From Detroit" thing that chrysler is pushin right now...alot of people think the shirt is very funny and is designed very well

djpathfinder 03-11-2011 06:30 PM

The import from Japan idea has potential. Even though the shirt design is aesthetically pleasing, there's nothing Japanese about it to tie in with the theme. You need something more strongly identifiable as Japanese and I think you've got a winner.

djpathfinder 03-11-2011 06:37 PM

As for the shirt with a bunch of wheels on it, you've got some 3 and 4 spoke wheels on it. How 1995 is that? Replace those with some more current wheel designs. Just my $0.02. :driving:

quite the contrary to "theres nothing japanese about it"...the pattern you see behind the word JAPAN is actually a classic SSR Formula Mesh wheel (which is regarded as one of the most iconic wheels ever made)...the pattern in the wings is an actual japanese textile pattern that is fairly common with men and womens kimonos

the shirt is meant to represent both old school and new school wheels...im sorry that you dont recognize vintage wheel designs...every wheel on that shirt is or has been made by volk, work, advan, SSR, and Watanabe...i know some of them may look very "1995", however, this shirt is made to appeal to a broad range of customers...im sorry that you think its tacky to have old school wheels mixed in with new designs, but 1980s and 1990s iconic wheels are still highly sought after today.

also, my wheels design is my biggest selling shirt next to the Kouki RPS13 design...they have both been featured in Super Street Magazine (see last months issue)...the wheels shirt sells universally very well because of the variety of tastes most tuners have in their wheel selection...pretty much there isnt a single person who doesnt have some kind of iconic wheel to them being represented on that shirt

djpathfinder 03-11-2011 07:18 PM

Respectfully, I was responding to your comments about "20 views and no replies?" and "what, no love from the 370Z community?"

The wings isn't very Japanese, even though the pattern within it is a recognizable textile pattern.

Regarding the wheels shirt, are you marketing to tuners or enthusiasts in general? I'm an automotive enthusiast, and I understand a bit about automotive history and trends, but feel free to assume I don't recognize vintage wheels. Maybe I don't get it some of the aspects of your designs. Maybe it's the same things that others aren't getting too, and perhaps that's why you're not getting an overwhelming response from the community?

What do I know...I'm not a shirt designer, I'm just a consumer.

dorkidori_s13 03-11-2011 07:41 PM

i wasnt snapping at you or anything...i just felt there was a need to respond to your posts with as much information as possible for consumers who may not understand what was trying to be conveyed with said designs :)

in regards to the wings comment...the shirt is also a play on the shirt that GM produced to promote the "imported from detroit thing"...i just really wanted to play off what GM is trying to do make Chrysler sound "cool" again

dorkidori_s13 03-22-2011 11:50 PM

I just got home an hour ago from the shop. Its now 9:45pm. I got all the shirts photographed. Im currently packing them. I will have pics posted hopefully later tonight!!! :D

Hey Dorki! Love the sortaflush shirt, now that I have my wheels, I'll try to rig up a sorta flush shot for you. How many orders do you have so far as I might be interested in another one in a different color..

Aside from the next project you're working with AK on, will you have any other 370Z designs like you have the RPS13 ones?

It's a t-shirt guys. If you analyze it for more than a couple of seconds you are way too uptight. I like the designs. The designer definately knows what sells to most import car enthusiasts. I like a t-shirt with a tighter fit in the arms. Are these of that fit or more a traditional cut.

thats a point thats REALLY difficult to drive home to people sometimes...

its hard at times to get people to see something for what it IS instead of what it ISNT...i get a lot of customers saying "why didnt you do this" or "why didnt you use the 96 instead of the 94" etc etc...folks have a hard time just enjoying the designs for they are...shirts with cars on them...your cars ;)
