haha. i hope that the same doesn't happen to the porsche owners.
imagine you spent the big bucks to get a porsche to have some person come up and compliment on how nice your nissan looks :D

I get that countless times. But half the people correct themselves. Other half, I correct them or I just dont care. Im sure they know what the car is (knowing its not 350) but they just fail to say the name correctly cuz they're used to 350's

iv'e gotten that a couple of times but i just let it go... to be honest imo the cars
at the right angle can be hard to tell apart.. just as the c-5 vettes were.
you had to really know your stuff to tell them apart.

the things you learn.

:iagree:

I never knew till now either. I just thought people were spelling it different since they all sound the same.

Actually, "bimmer" is pronounced with the sound of a short i, while "beemer" is pronounced with a long e.
"Beamer" is not really a correct spelling of either word.

Yes, I'm bored.

I don't get mad when normal people call it a 350z. I owned one and I thought it was great. I don't like when the service department at the Nissan dealership calls my car a 350z. That makes me worry.

toxik 03-06-2011 08:42 PM

I heard having you car be called a 350 immediately makes you lose 2-3 inches below and therefore requires an immediate correction to make sure they know you're carrying a full footlong down there.

Jeffblue 03-06-2011 08:43 PM

i usually feel like i sound like a **** if i correct someone by saying i have a 370z.

I think you may need to find a new dealership to get your car serviced, one that knows what car they're working on...

i think for a lot of people that don't know anything about the history of the car, the 350z is the car they are most familiar with. So when we say 'Z' to talk about Z cars in general, they say 350z. obviously its wrong, but i think thats what they mean.

Yeah, I see what you're saying, but I feel like the one place that should get it right is the one working on/fixing it and also the one that sold it to you in the first place.
