WHats your opinion
Wanna line my newly painted strut bar with mod stickers, think it will look neat for car shows, any chemists out there LOL........will the stickers hold up on the strut bar or will the heat cause them to melt or will they just wrinkle. chime in with opinions guys, dont wanna put them on then its too late
|
I think the heat will definitely affect them. They may not melt right away but I don't think they will last long. You may consider putting them on something you can easily remove just to use it for car shows. Maybe even buy another oem strut bar. They are not hard to swap out.

They will be fine, I had a few manufacturer stickers under the hood of my Saab and even though they sat right next to the exhaust manifold and my gt28rs turbo, they seemed unaffected so it should be a none-issue with the Z.

z's are known to have hot engine bays...
|
yea the engine gets hot as hell. but stickers on the strut bar should be ok....idk....will they melt...will they wrinkle.....will they be fine.....The stickers are thicker higher quality anyways
|
Good stickers will stay. Cheaper ones will peel off.
|
I hope so. bc if they melt it will basically ruin the strut
|
di noc ruined my engine cover when i did the cf wrap... had to sand it down and paint it with engine enamel matte black... :icon14:
well, it looks nice and stock now... |
Im going to my sticker guy tomorrow. AHHHHHH.....still havent decided whether to do it or not

Good quality vinyl from a reputable manufacturer should be fine. A 5-6 year outdoor vinyl should be fine. But you can always figure out what brand and look at their technical specs for heat.

there's a few of us here (myself included) who have some sort of sticker on their strut bar. no issues with mine so far, and dont' think anybody else has any issues either. go for it if you want.
personally, putting company names on the strut bar looks kind of tacky. |
Shoulda sent your strut bar to Mike! and sent him information on the stickers/files to get em printed. I believe he puts them under the clearcoat so they would last quite a bit without issues.

I would not put a sticker on paint less than 30 days old unless it was cured in a heated booth to factory spec. |
