I thought a Hybrid 370Z would be a good idea, after last week, I think NOT.
I drove a 2010 Altima Hybrid as a rental last week. Wow, what a bland car. The car did not get very good mileage (23 mpg mixed) and the engine sounded like a diesel. The CVT was dull and lifeless and overall the car did not impress me with it's smoothness. From 1-10 it's a solid 5. I would NOT pay the premium for an Altima with a Hybrid so I am guessing the Z with a hybrid would be a pass also.
That said, I think it's time for a 400Z or a 430Z or even better a 500Z. |
Ibtl!

I don't think the 370Z deserves that type of setup. It would not appeal to many who brought the car for performance. |
they better not green the Z up....i will not buy the next gen if thats the case

The Altima hybrid doesn't need to appeal to enthusiasts, so there's no reason to waste the time and money trying to make it do so. |
i thought altma's were suppose to be bland?

The Altima is not a Z. They've shared powerplants before (the VQ35).
Pass on a hybrid Z if you want. If I do, it won't be because I drove an Altima and didn't like it. |
I believe the GTR will get a hybrid setup before the Z in my opinion, but I am all for a Z with electric assist however I do not see how they will hit even near the weight of the current Z with a hybrid setup and therefore will be problematic to the entire purpose of the Z line of cars.
