The z is usually a bit noisier but we don't know the condition of the vehicle what tires are on it and the condition etc. Just because tire kingdom inspected it doesn't mean much because it doesn't mean that they know what they are doing.

I personally find the Z to be surprisingly comfortable in terms of ride, and while there is a fair amount of road noise, it is no worse than many sports cars . I believe that a sports car like the Z should be raw and some of these imperfections add to that persona. I actually think it should have a bit firmer of a ride stock, it almost feels too soft for its abilities.

All these posts have me paranoid now.
I wonder if my Z is noisy too.

cfweber 02-26-2011 08:36 PM

welcome to the 370Z

I guess you noticed the Z is not exactly a BMW in terms of quiet ride

How was the test drive?

congrats on the Z

I got used to the noise in a couple months

kenchan 02-26-2011 09:15 PM

yah make sure some goof didn't do a washer mod... :ugh2:

fighterinsnat 02-26-2011 09:22 PM

Wow thanks for all the feedback!!

I drove the car more tonight and I'm starting to get used to the noise and a
Learning to drive the car smoother.

I understand that the tire kingdom wouldnt be able to totally inspect the car.
I'm going to take it in to nissan just for ease of mind.

The bottom line is I absolutely love the car and I look forward to driving it. I was just not expecting the contrast in ride quality.

The Z is pure sex. It is hot, loud, and rough!

Rui Z 02-26-2011 10:11 PM

You can always go test drive a new Z at a local dealership to see if it makes the same noise as your car.

It's definitely loud, but what sports car isn't?

Wait until you start modding...upgraded tires, intake, exhaust all = extra noise :icon17:

KillerBee370 02-27-2011 12:36 AM

haha... take a ride in my car and you'll need a hearing aid as well as a back brace when you're done.

jaedub 02-27-2011 01:04 AM

yeah, loud road noise is typical for sports car. But its not THAT bad compared to s2k's, Sti's, etc

Jordo! 02-27-2011 01:20 AM

Bone stock these cars are, if anything, way too quiet IMO.

I have a feeling yours has either test pipes (especially if a used Z from FL) or high flow cats and that's why it's so noisy. Does it sound especially raspy around 2500 RPM?

fighterinsnat 02-27-2011 07:13 AM

The car is stock and I plan it keep it that way so the warranty is not voided.
The only modification I'd like to do is adding a oil cooler for precautionary measures.

I woke up this morning and all I can think about is driving somewhere.

Also does anyone know if the hankook v12 tires are pretty good to run on this car? The guy before me said the car is on it's 3rd pair of rear tires!!!

That's a good mod if you plan on keeping it stock.

I know, it's crazy how every morning you just can't wait to take her out!

The Hankook V12's are very good on this car, especially just on the streets, but they arn't the best for tracks though.
