im not really into muscle cars like im not into pickup trucks or veggie burgers.

cossie1600 02-20-2011 09:18 PM

I came from a C6 Corvette. It was a much faster vehicle than the 370, probably even better in terms of gas mileage and the day to day room. Yet the C6 just didn't fit me as good as the 370 for some reason, plus it kept breaking!

i think that's why i like it, the fact that it is huge :)
i read that the challenger has the same chassis as a mercedes-benz e-class (w210)

The 370 has similar chassis as the Infiniti SUV, doesn't matter

And I'm glad they're big because without them I'd feel blind in the Z. Especially on the right. Damn blind spot.

I bought a 370Z before test driving it. Before sitting in one.
It's the most beautiful, unique car I've seen, and was a good goal to strive for price-wise. I haven't seen another driving around here since I bought one.
Pearl white is so nice, too.

elmz 02-21-2011 09:36 AM

I had a 350 and fell in love with it. But it took me 2 years to really like the styling of the car and so I finally bought one in 2005. It's the same story with the 370, only this time it took 6 months.

I bought it because of it's performance and stunning good looks (imo). I looked at the Evo/STi, but in the end I wanted something rwd. The Mustangs and Camaros while packing a lot of power just don't do it for me. I prefer a car that handles well and imo the 370Z handles much better. As for looks, I think hands down the 370Z looks much better than the Mustang or Camaro. I will admit that I never did like the looks of the 350 at all (mainly cause the tail looked like it had been squashed). Ever since I saw the pics of the 370Z it has been my favorite car styling wise that I could realistically afford with my current income.

The "Z" is an icon and is a bit exclusive here in Oklahoma City. You just don't see that may of them. Most folks here have no idea what it is or what it costs. (Mustangs, Camaros, and Chargers are everywhere.)

Besides that, it's a reliable and fun little sports car.

DrEvil 02-21-2011 11:47 AM

Mrs Evil and I were coming back home to central Jersey from LSD ( lower ,slower Delaware- our weekend home) and I was watching cars drive by. The count; Mustangs, Camaros,'vettes, etc... tntc (too numerous to count), Zs; 2 350s, 0 370s. I always take major roads like IS 295 in NJ, Delaware 13 and 1 and very rarely do I see a 370.
I just love how few of them are out there and I do love the fangs.

jaedub 02-21-2011 12:04 PM

cheaper than vette, most muscle cars, better looking than wrx and evo. Best track time from all the cars i just mentioned. Car that can go neck to neck with $100,000 porsche. A true sports car that has a history of more than 42 years.

sctdixon 02-21-2011 03:27 PM

I had a C5 Vette before this car so I say I upgraded!! :tiphat:

not trying to stir it up here because i also love the 370 for all the reasons
that have been stated. we all bought the car so we should brag about it...

but i'm sure the other owners are saying the same stuff about their cars..
its all personal choice to each his own.

what separates the z from the rest imho is price vs bang for your buck..
in its class the 370 can't be beat..

and the same can be said about the corvette in its price range nothing touches it.

I was bored and splurged one weekend! I liked the Z because I drive a truck everyday at work and wanted a nice car that got descent milage and had good looks to it. I have all concepts of different cars in the garage from a muscle car (old school 67 camaro), toyota 4x4 offroader, to now a nice sports car that gets complements and is kinda rare in my town. I never see any 370's here. Maybe two a month or so. It also helped out that my best friend had a 76' model Z when we were in high school. I really just didnt want another regular car to drive around. Great cars and alot of fun to drive.

Viera 02-21-2011 10:25 PM

I went to the Nissan dealership with the intention of test driving a 350Z and possibly purchasing one. When a sales rep approached, "370Z" slipped out of my mouth without even thinking... Now I drive one! True story

Actually, for almost $10K less (as tested), the 2012 GT-R practically embarasses the new Z0(whatever number they're on).

:iagree:

seeing is believing.doesn't the GT-R have like 14 cylinder's.
but 1/4 mile is only one test of a car.

Oh.
I was beginning to think that HP and quarter mile slips were all that people cared about around here :stirthepot:
