What type of 370z should I buy?

Hi everyone, I am interested in leasing/buying a 370z. I am curious to see what model/add ons you guys would suggest I get?

I do also have the option to buy a 2007 350z Nismo with 16k miles and nav for $27k

*Edit* So test drove the 370z Base Coupe and I have concluded that I would want to buy the base model and possible (sport package) and then add mods after.

Thanks,
-Josh

Welcome to the forum!

I'd pass on that Nismo. $27k and 16k mi on a 2007 350Z of any trim level just doesn't sound good to me at all.

Why not browse the forum and glean information for yourself? There are tons of threads about mods for different aspects of the car. Your question is too broad to tackle head-on considering you haven't disclosed what options YOU want and what your budget is.

Perhaps start with deciding between Base, Base+Sport, Touring, Touring + Sport, and Nismo.

SPOHN 02-15-2011 03:18 PM

Depends on you goals. You need to figure out if you plan to lease or buy? Would you want to mod it any? Do you want leather? List goes on.

red6spd 02-15-2011 03:21 PM

Leaseing it is gonna be alot more money no??? They dont normally have good lease rates on cars like these. As for your choices it kind of depends on your wants and money. You want a base 6spd at like 30K or a loaded auto roadster at 45+ Give us some more info

kenchan 02-15-2011 03:28 PM

The only option I recommend is sport package on the base Z. :) everything else just do aftermarket.

Wasted 02-15-2011 04:37 PM

Some times you can get a cheaper rate for leasing.
I think I would want the sport package. And everything else would be after market.

Have some more information about how you'll be driving, whether you'll be modding, what your goals are with the car?

EL Diablo 02-15-2011 05:03 PM

370z Base w/ Sport Package should be a nice start.

I would not mod a leased car... but that's just me.

cossie1600 02-15-2011 05:31 PM

Zs are not good to lease, resale isn't high enough

16k-miles, thats unreal! I looked in KBB, it automatically put the mileage at 50k. I reduced the mileage to 16k, and the sale price was 29k! I'd pass up the Nismo!

cossie1600 02-15-2011 06:11 PM

Don't use the KBB, use the black book

SPOHN 02-15-2011 06:32 PM

^ I agree. KBB seems to favor the dealers.

cossie1600 02-15-2011 06:34 PM

When you trade in the car, they use the black book. When they want to sell you something at a high rate, they refer to the bluebook. Scumbags

CATCHINZZZS 02-15-2011 06:49 PM

I could get you a new 2010 for 28K

jaedub 02-15-2011 07:01 PM

why bother getting 350z nismo when you can practically get used 370z with about the same mileage for around 27k? And dont lease a car. Its not yours. Make it yours!! base 370z will beat the nismo 350 in every aspect.

that's what the blue/black books are for...

sonic370 02-15-2011 07:36 PM

370 base with sports package best bang.....
just don't expect a decent sound system...
unless your talking about the exhaust system!

cossie1600 02-15-2011 07:55 PM

Exhaust sounds like my Prius, it sucks

I am pretty sure that if you lease a vehicle you can't mod the vehicle (i.e. after market products). Leasing a vehicle is basically like renting the car from the dealership for 3 to 4 years. You don't own it and you have to give it back to them, so they don't want you messing with the car in terms of mods. I'd even guess its part of the lease contract that you can't mod it.

I recommend buying one. In the long run, buying is always the less expensive option over leasing.

hdskull 02-15-2011 08:06 PM

Base+sport or sport+touring+navi

CoolZ 02-15-2011 08:20 PM

Gotta have the rear wing and the hot wheels....both in the sport package.

ProfessorDave 02-15-2011 08:34 PM

A white one.

ZeeingAround 02-15-2011 09:18 PM

you should not buy a Z, but instead a VW. Nobody Wasted should drive a Z,

I would plan on buying the car at the end of the lease. It would just make the payments easier on my Wallet:)

I meant I would mod it after i bought it.

Got it, thanks for the tip!

Go for the sport package. rear wing completes the look, premium wheels, synchro rev-match is neat, and the LSD - pretty good value right there.
