Thinking about trading my Z for an Evo X

Maybe you guys can talk me out of this, but I'm really considering trading in my 370 for an Evo. Reason being, my wife and I are now thinking about kids and the 370 would obviously pose problems for that. Also, these north east winters seem to be getting worse by the year and the Evo would seem to be more practical in that department.

That being said I'm still very torn as I love my Z. I was however offered a great deal on a 2011 Evo X GSR and the car definitely has me intrigued. Would you guys say this is a wise move? Also is the Evo comparable performance wise to the Z or is there something else I should be looking at?

Thank you

Third choice is buy an inexpensive but reliable used car and keep the Z for times your not driving the kids around

According to my high school health class, thinking about kids does not immediately cause a need for extra seats in one's car.

That wisea$$ comment aside, the winter months can be an issue in a RWD sports car. Keep in mind that you have just experienced record snow amounts in Philly this year. So next year snow might not be a factor.

From my own experience, going from a car you are emotional about to one that is just OK or a good deal is a bad idea. But I get attached to cars, so that could just be me.

I have a personal opinion about an Evo, but my mother told me that if I don't have anything positive to say, don't say bad things about other cars.

If I was in the same seat as you, I would go for the EVO. THANK GOD I'M NOT!

What about the Infiniti G37x? The G and Z are like siblings and the G37x has awd so it would be good in the snow.

If you buy a nice car like the G37 you're not gonna want to put babies in it to mess it up. He'll I wouldn't want to put my 12 and 8 yr olds back there. So those seats would have been no good.

Wait until you have a kid.... you'll have at least a few months notice before you'll need any extra seats. When your wife is in her last trimester, (i'm assuming she's not even pregnant) then there will be a deal on a car too. there's always deals on cars. Not to mention, winter is almost over, might as well enjoy spring in the Z.

I think you can get the Evo and G37x both for around $30k or less. Personally, I would go with the G37 for looks and comfort.

Let me see evo x or 370Z???? :bowrofl:
not meant as smart axx remark just couldn't help myself..

you were wise once when you bought the 370 stay that way

I face the family dilemma as well. I agree with Jeff that PLANNING to have a kid does not necessitate rearrangement of your cars. Wait til the kid is impending and then start to adjust your transportation.

I would try and get a second car if you could pull it off. Thats what I do... But if you needed to get a AWD turbo sedan I would go with the new STI Sedan... I really like that car.

You have 9 months to decide. As others have said, don't sell your car until she's pregnant and ~4-5 months away from delivery (and you're sure you're the dad :)).

/\ best advice so far. If you trade the Z, the raping you'll take on trade could possibly cover the cost of a beater dd.

If you're dead set on another car though, I'd take an STI over an Evo, but that's just me.
