When I bought my 370z, I got EVERY option that was offered: Sport/touring with nav and 7AT.....out the door tax and all was about $48K. I bought it the day they came out so NO ONE was coming off sticker.

After that, I put over $20K in mods: GTM stage 2 twin turbo, many cooling mods, greddy tiC turbo exhaust, and VIS carbon fiber hood. After MANY Osiris tuning sessions @ Z1, I am putting down about 500 whp and 388 tq. The car runs great!

Now, someone....NICELY....tell me WHAT a Nismo has that I dont have? Except for the body kit (which DOES NOT improve performance), what does it have that is better than a loaded 370z?

I AM NOT HATING ON NISMOS......please dont go there. I think the Nismo looks good to some, its just not what I want.

I have said to some before that I wish the Nismo WAS to the 370 what the ZR1 is to the vette.....but it is not. If it was, I would have one.

So, without hate, someone educate me!

Thanks,
Blue

Nismo=Your paying for Nismo parts and items that are labeled Nismo(bfd)! You can get equivalent parts for a 370 on the market "cheaper".

In those conditions I think ur right, only 3 cars in town and just one AT, dealer could have asked for whatever they wanted. Don't take this the wrong way and Im sorry to hear what happened to u (fvckng drunl drivers), but are u not afraid taking that TT down the dragstrip with ur condition? I would be LOL

Good point.....I may not drive the official 1/4 mile run......still thinking about it. I definitely dont want to spend another 7 months in the hospital.

FYI....IDIOT.....had the Nismo come out THE DAY THE 370 was released YOU WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN A DISCOUNT. If you lived in a smaller town THE DAY THE 370 came out and there were only 3 TOTAL in the town.....YOU WOULDNT HAVE GOT A DISCOUNT.

I DIDNT PAY 68K FOR MY CAR thats what I have in it. I didnt want a Nismo, Porsche, OR ANYTHING ELSE......I LIKE THE 370! I was one of the early adopters on the GTM TT kit and it cost a little more at the very beginning.
ALSO, IF YOU LOOK IN MY PICTURES YOU WILL SEE I ALREADY HAD A PORSCHE 930, and several vettes, etc....

For the record, I think the Nismo looks "riced out" more than any other style 370. Its NOT FASTER and if you look at 1/4 mile times and track times you will see its ACTUALLY SLOWER.

In closing, I PAID CASH FOR MY 370 AND DONT OWE A PENNY ON IT OR THE MODS I HAVE DONE. I doubt you can say the same.

Please read before you speak in the future.

Dude, Try not to project your insecurities so much. $68K investment in a base 370Z? Im sorry but I suspect that has less to do with being an early adopter and someone who might be bait misguided. And paying $68k cash for aftermarket modded entry level Japanese sports car aint smart in my book. You ended up with an over priced rice rocket that I likely could whip on a road course in my stock but well balanced Nismo with a couple upgrades to brakes, tires and oil cooler. Im always amazed at lack of knowledge about what it takes to build a well balanced quick car. Sorry you invested so much in your over priced base car ricer mobile, time to drown your sorrows in some nonfunctional CF! That's why I love the Nismo! No investment beyond $36k original purchase price, all covered under warranty, no down time experimenting and isntalling after market crap. Nothing worse than people who have made mistake acting all righteous and superior when talking to people who saw real deal in the factory built car for nearly half the price. :stirthepot:

I suspect I have far more experience with car development than most people on this forum. But I leave real development to my track cars - I tend to leave my street cars stock. Nismo is my cute little econo commute car.

If I was inclined to running 1/4 miles I certainly wouldn't have bought a 370z. Lol!

Ouch. Sorry about money pit 930!

Have some of you guys seen the turbo thread where a guy had a nismo and a regular 370z. Both had greddy turbo kits put on and the nismo still made more power with the same build. If I remember correctly it was a bit more than 30whp difference. There is a video of it on youtube somewhere.

EDIT: NVM it was more than 40whp difference

Yes, it is a shop called AAM and in the thread they also said the Nismo is running more boost as the non-Nismo owner wanted to keep it as a 'light' build.
