The NISMO 370Z exists only to make people's heads explode.

By the looks of this thread, I'd say my money has been well spent. :)

:icon18: Good one Dreamer haha.. I love my nismo, I could add leather, nav and better sound to mine and still would have paid significally less than the 48k the OP paid for his touring. Just saying:rolleyes:

So based on your question, aside from the NISMO bodywork, you don't have:

- NISMO-tuned suspension with increased spring, dampening and stabilizer rates
- NISMO reinforced 3-point front strut tower brace
- NISMO front and rear performance body dampers
- Wider Wheels: 19" x 9.5" (front) and 19" x 10.5" (rear) 5-spoke NISMO super-lightweight forged alloy wheels by RAYS®
- Aerodynamic Aids: Front/Rear: Negative-lift includes unique front fascia with splitter spoiler, aerodynamic side sills, negative-lift rear diffuser and rear spoiler
- NISMO Gauges, Interior Stitching, Plaques, etc...
- Miata Doors

Disclaimer: the above is a factual answer to the OP's question

So you could read this:

How many dead hookers does it take to fill the trunk of a Z?

I don't know, but the engine's running and someone called the cops. Let's GO!

After that, I put over $20K in mods: GTM stage 2 twin turbo, many cooling mods, greddy tiC turbo exhaust, and VIS carbon fiber hood. After MANY Osiris tuning sessions @ Z1, I am putting down about 500 whp and 388 tq. The car runs great!

Now, someone....NICELY....tell me WHAT a Nismo has that I dont have? Except for the body kit (which DOES NOT improve performance), what does it have that is better than a loaded 370z?

I AM NOT HATING ON NISMOS......please dont go there. I think the Nismo looks good to some, its just not what I want.

I have said to some before that I wish the Nismo WAS to the 370 what the ZR1 is to the vette.....but it is not. If it was, I would have one.

So, without hate, someone educate me!

Thanks,
Blue

You say your not hating on Nismos but I think you are. A Nismo is better than a base, just like the sport touring is better than the base, like the 40th is better than a base. Hence the term base. A starting point. But I am pretty sure that YOUR car is better than any trim level 370Z that is offered. $70k wow. I would like to dump $20k into my Nis but at that point I would spend just a little more and get the GTR or buy a DD. And who is going around bragging or saying a Nismo is better........ I see a bunch of threads from non nismo owners always saying that its not.

$48K? I have the same car as you, sans the navi, and I'm thinking that the MSRP was a couple dollars shy of $40K. Did you pay a premium?

I would trust Nissan a bit on this as they have provided the numbers for it when the car was released. Was it 'officially' wind tested, who knows.

What I would like is a solid flat(as much as possible)under carriage. To eliminate drag,I "think" the GTR has this. Sorry totally off topic.

Ok.....I wil try not to insult you......BUT....as I said.....I BOUGHT THE CAR THE FIRST DAY THE 370 CAME OUT........NO ONE WAS COMING OFF STICKER THEN, I did not.....DID NOT....pay a premium.....but I am guessing there are a few optionss I have that you do not.....lighted kick plates.....splash guards, etc.......Also keep in mind that the 7AT tranny was a big add on the price as well.

The STICKER WAS ALMOST 46K and I will be happy to scan it if you still are not clear.

Ron 01-25-2011 07:45 PM

They should give discounts for 7AT Zs hehe

Please don't insult me ;) but as I said before, my car is EXACTLY like yours (except for nav).

I'll try not to insult you by telling you how much I paid for your car.

Nissan automatics have an excellent record, that's one thing they can build right.

Wow, OP getting all mad people are laughing at the price he paid. Just for some info OP, some of the first members bought their Z at invoice the first day. You got scammed.

Ron 01-25-2011 08:49 PM

^ no doubt about that. I'm just against autos on sports cars. Takes away from the driving experience imo

Did I read that right, 48k for a 370!

depends a lot on location though, and willingness to spend time searching for a deal. For a lot of people, it's better to overpay than to waste a week looking for a price that is a couple k's cheaper.

That said, I'm pretty sure he could have gotten his wheels cheaper without too much extra effort, but it's hard to say for sure.

I feel ya, everything I've owned has been a manual, from my first accord, to my Jeep. That said, I almost considered getting the Z in auto simply because it is such a nice transmission, and the manual on the Z isn't exactly the greatest transmission option out there, in terms of quality as well as feel.

In the end, the love of rowing won out, but only by a little.

Was not even aware the price went that high, I even shopped fully loaded and was never given a price over 38.

I think for a coupe MSRP goes up to around 43k. Maybe he got some factory options or something. Or maybe it's a slight exaggeration.

Yep, i've always had manuals too. If I ever get an auto it would be one of those double clutch shift before you blink autos lol. Anyway, to keep this on topic.. I saw a really nice shelby gt500 for 48k

Blue370tt 01-26-2011 08:44 AM

A few things: I live in Chattanooga TN and there are only 2 Nissan dealers here. On the day the 370z came out, there were only 3 of them in the whole town for sale. 2 were 6MTs and I wanted a 7AT. Because they knew they had a corner on the 370z market (at that moment) they were not coming off the sticker.

Most of my sports cars have been manuals through my life, but in 2007 I was hit by a drunk driver and spent 7 months in the hospital. I had severe brain injuries and also was permanantly blinded in one eye. You might be thinking "well you still have one eye" and I do, but the eye I lost was my dominant eye. While I can still see, I can no longer shoot pool, or a gun accurately. For THIS REASON, I decided an auto might be better for now.

I am not bragging on my car or dissing the Nismo. Money is not an issue for me and if I wanted a Nismo, I would just go buy one (or a GTR for that matter). The truth is, I LIKE THE 370! I personally dont like body kits and thats what the Nismo looks like to me. If I were tracking my car I might....MIGHT...consider aero enhancements, but I am not. I plan on running a few 1/4 miles and local driving and thats it.

So, I have what I have and you have what you have....end of story.

Nitrouz 01-26-2011 10:15 AM

sorry to hear about your eye, but you still have a driver's license with no depth perception?

I dont really have depth perception issues but my periphial vision is not that great. I dont drive as much as I once did and I dont drive at night (oncoming cars headlights nearly blind me).

My judgement may be off a little as my brain is still adjusting to using my non dominant eye. I am actually more cautious now because I sense/know my limitations.
