Nice review. I also felt that my Z was a great value.

The only one worse to drive was the Ranger, becuase it had NO! torque. The clutch offered more feedback, though. It is more "on/off"the clutch in my friend's 800whp civic.

Go drive a Mini Countryman S manual and tell me what you think of that clutch. I like the on/off feel of the Z clutch.

If you think it's worse than the Z, I would hate it, too. I'm not a fan of the on/off.

I'm starting to like the feel of the clutch. It's loosened up a bit since I first got it. I only have 650 miles.

The range of engagement for the 370z is much smaller than most cars but it isn't that bad. I got used to the clutch within 10 minutes. I don't think it is a on/off type of clutch because I still feel a range of engagement when I release the clutch.

Yeah, honestly it's not that bad at all. It just takes some time to get used to if you're used to a car that has a wider engagement range. I think the people that make a stink about are usually the ones that haven't been able to really adapt to the car. The clutch in my 5.0 has roughly the same feel as the Z.

+1, you said some things I was having trouble putting in words myself. good luck to you!

Good review. Agree with the flywheel assessment. I agreed with the clutch comments until I upgraded the exhaust and intake. This corrected many of the issues I had with the clutch.

MINI Cooper clutches are far worse!!!! They allow for too much slippage. Built for the masses.

Good luck with the plan for another Elise! Love those rockets!

OK what am I missing here? You upgraded the exhaust and intake and it fixed your clutch issues???? I'm confused...

Lower power cars usually have a nicer feeling clutch. On off feel is usually necessary if you're laying significant torque. It's just a matter of adjusting your driving style.

I can't complain about many clutches after running a single disk clutch rated for 600 wtq (very briefly) in the S. Trying to drive in traffic with that would usually result in hitting the passenger's head on the windshield from time to time.

Yep. This improved throttle response and made the clutch feel more consistent. I thought I was the only one, but after reading some threads in the tech section I found that others found this to be an effective solution without upgrading the clutch.
