Splash Guards?

does splash guards help alot?
because one dealer that im looking at has 2 40th in stock but only 1 of them, looks like from pictures, have Splash Guards installed.

I have heard/read it is impossible to order 40th splash guards anymore.. so... was wondering if it helps to protect paints and stuff....

sorry if this is dumb question....

I haven't done any scientific research on how much they help or not... especially since I have 20mm and 25mm spacers on mine... but I will say, they make the car look a LOT better... especially in the rear.

Imo they make a difference.

My 40th didn't come with the splash guards so I bought carbon fiber and installed those. I think it looks great.

After hearing all the rocks kicking around while driving, I tend to think those splash guards have a lot to do with keeping the rocks from scratching up the rear quarter panels and fenders... Although I could just be a complete idiot with this assumption:tup:

My buddy at the dealership knows me pretty well. I am a cheap *** penny pincher to a fault. He "made" me spend the $ to get the splash guards put on mine because it didn't come with them. He says they make a big difference and are worth the money. I trust his opinion.

Ah! I see, Thanks for all of your opinions, guys.

With a 'vette, they keep rock-chips down a bit. Dunno what they do for a 370,but I bet similar.

I agree with Shado, I got a really good rock chip from a rock coming up and getting the drivers side door. After installing the splash guards I have not had one.

+ I think they look good!

My car didn't come with them... it's one thing that is on my list of things to buy.

I'd trade illuminated kickplates for 'em. haha

Sibze 01-19-2011 09:21 AM

Just get them from the dealer, that's what I did. Nice and easy!

I thiught the 40th is supposed to come with splash guards? What's these stories of people not having them on their 40ths?

You can always buy then separate and have them painted, since you cannot buy them already painted the 40th quartz color.

It's prob bassed on the country. In the US the 40th doesn't have a Nav in Canada you can...

I don't know why but there seems to be 15 versions of the Z...

I just switched out the backs from 20mm to 25mm. Haven't even taken any pics yet.

This pic is 20mm front and back... you can see why I wanted 25mm in the back. Had 20 rear and 15 front... then 20 front... then 25 rear.

I'll try to take a few pics soon.
