Tall drivers.

:hello: What's up ladies and gents? The wife and I are seriously considering picking up a 370z when I get back from my deployment next January.

My question is how well do you think I'll fit in that car, being 6'4"? lol. Even if it's not comfortable for me, the wife can still enjoy it, and I'll just watch :shakes head:

I haven't visited the dealer for the test drive because I don't want to be pressured into buying it right now (I know this is the best way to answer my question). I want to try to sell one of my cars (06 Altima) myself so I can get a little more money than I would from a trade-in, but trading in is not out of the question, since its paid off.

theDreamer 01-16-2011 03:58 PM

6'4" here and I fit fine.
I drive from Houston to Austin and by the end of the drive I am ready to get out, but that is a 2 hour drive. Driving around town, Houston, I rarely feel uncomfortable.

c41006 01-16-2011 03:59 PM

I am 6'4" as well and I fit comfortably

tjlazer 01-16-2011 04:14 PM

6'4" 225 lbs here. Fit good but the legs can make it hard getting in and out.

Rone 01-16-2011 04:15 PM

You guys have no idea how much I wanted to hear that. lol

onzedge 01-16-2011 04:33 PM

I am 6-5 and do not have a problem. There is a technique to master for entering and exiting that is easy to figure out.

SPOHN 01-16-2011 04:50 PM

If someone was to ask me if a 6-5 guy would fit I would almost think no. But it's obvious you guys do. Do you guys have to sit more straight up though.

Technique? Throw both legs in at once? lol j/k. From the feedback I've gotten, I'm confident that I'll be fine.

Amazing statement -- I have had z cars (10) so far, as DD's since 1986. I have been 6-5 since 1980.

Ya we it must be the lack of education. I understand it's hard for Amaricans to get past grad school... Sorry you were born to a disadvantage... You can blame your parents for that

Probably easier technique:
Feet on ground outside
Sit on seat sideways, legs still outside.
Swing both feet in.

No doing splits this way :)

:iagree: +1
this is the technique i always use:driving:

samb03 01-17-2011 12:32 AM

I think it has more to do with how much you want to drive it. I know guy that was 6 6' and upper 400's and drive a 80's mustang. My brother is 6'2 and 310lbs he hasn't driven my Z yet but in the passenger seat his knees are a couple inches from the dash. He wears 40/38 jeans in Levi's if this helps. this is with the seat a couple inches from being slid all the way back because I that is were I store my amp for now. I am 5 11" and wear 32-34 in inseam and keep the seat 2 or 3 notches from the back.

Mt Tam I am 01-17-2011 09:24 AM

The Z with its 38= inches of head room, make it a good choice for taller guys. I'm only 6'3" and it is definitely right leg in, can in seat, bring left leg up and in.

:iagree: Head must get inside too. I forgot that part.

Rone 01-17-2011 12:39 PM

Thanks for the input, guys. I'm super excited! This is going to be one, long deployment with this car on my mind, lol.

Sibze 01-17-2011 12:42 PM

Be Safe!

Urbanracer 01-17-2011 10:50 PM

6'6'', 230 lbs and I fit. Driving with a helmet on is a different story.
