Could be a mix up...

I've noticed that some sport package Z's are missing this part on delivery, or that the owner finds it in the trunk and not installed on the vehicle.

Exactly, that's why I asked, similar shape part in the car, maybe they made a mistake...

Aaron1 01-16-2011 11:30 AM

My front end looks a little different than those of the pics.
The package is 2 plastic pieces about 10 inches long, each piece has 3 bolt holes and the kit also has 4 screws.

Xan 01-16-2011 11:34 AM

But do you have the sports package?

Aaron1 01-16-2011 11:40 AM

No its a base model.

Xan 01-16-2011 11:43 AM

In that case they left a part meant for a Cube behind in your car and that would be all.

Free cube parts FTW

Will be camping out on the dealers door step tonight.:p

My base model has parts like you described in front of each front tire. Does yours have air deflectors in that location?

Aaron1 01-16-2011 03:07 PM

Thanks turbodog. It is the parts circled, now I just have to find out how to install this kit. (looks very easy) I ordered a set of race ramps and low profile jacks so I can get under this vehicle. As far as deflectors, well im not sure.
If anyone could post a close up pic of a base front end I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks a bunch turbodog as that was very nice of you to do that, and it was very helpful. Yeah, im just gonna wait for my race ramps as they should be here on tuesday. Im glad the dealer didn't install them as I don't want them touching anything on this car. Im gonna have to try and train my new nissan dealer like I did my ford dealer as they know how anal I am with my truck and they just give me the parts and ask for the old ones back on warranty work. (knock on wood)

Let me know how that goes. I would love to do my own warranty work. I already do everyone else's at the dealership I work at (not Nissan).

Liquid_G 01-17-2011 01:05 AM

don't hate on the Cube...

After going over this new vehicle with a fine toothed comb I have only found 2 things of concern as far as warranty goes. 1 There are some scratches on the paint under the bumper cover (passengers side) I knew about this when I took delivery as I made the stealership rack the vehicle before purchase.(Transport damage) My paint guy says he can just spot paint and clear this small area with no problem. 2 Vehicle looks like its leaning a little on the passengers side (3/8 of an inch difference RF). I started a thread about this and may not even be a problem. If this leaning is a problem and it costs me less than 250.00 bucks I will fix it myself before I let the dealer touch this car. Hell, I kinda wanna upgrade the springs anyway.

I know thread is a little old, but can someone tell me what this is for? Found it in the trunk of my '13 370Z with the front air deflectors also.

If your state does not require front plates, it is "for" the trash can. ;)

That's where mine went.

I think I still. have mine but I don't know why I keep it.

Kabestro 09-02-2012 01:23 PM

Nice, thanks guys. To the trash can it is...jeje

LiquidCrewZ 09-03-2012 03:43 PM

I think that was the same part that was included with my base model and was wondering the same thing when I bought it.

RN SHARK 09-03-2012 03:49 PM

Mine went in the trash too, even tho CA requires a front plate. I'm not drilling into my bumper!

Kabestro 09-10-2012 06:19 PM

Quick question, what's the little red light for? That's located near the map lights.

Mood lighting. :p

Actually just ambient lighting, so you have a little glow to help you see around the inside of the car at night.

Kabestro 09-10-2012 07:17 PM

Nice, thanks. Had a hunch it was for that, wasn't really sure.

WI_Hedgehog 06-05-2016 02:43 PM

The red light is so the instrument cluster and other things can be seen at night. Move your hand from your lap to the stick shift and you'll see how the red light illuminates it. Different Nissan vehicles have different colored lights, Murano for instance has a white light.
