Not a Poll just wondering about cell phones

I know this may not fit here but can't blame a guy for trying.......

Where do you guys keep, place or store your cell phones when driving, not counting in your pocket....

Mine's usally is in the cup holder until it has a cup in it then it's on the passenger seat..... looking maybe for a good cell phone mount but hate to just stick anything on the dash. any good ideas or has anyone come across a
good cell phone mount. i've got a iphone4 so i use it for everything.bluetooth phone, music, nav etc........

Me also.

GZ3 01-13-2011 07:11 PM

my blackberry fits PERFECTLY in that little space underneath the guage pod by the sterring wheel...doesnt slide or anything

Chriz 01-13-2011 07:12 PM

Same here (in the cupholder)

RCZ 01-13-2011 07:22 PM

cupholder/passenger seat. What I hate is when I have my keys in the cup holder and then I have to fiddle the damn phone in there while lifting the keys a little like im some kinda ape looking for a treat.

daisuke149 01-13-2011 07:26 PM

with the otterbox case on my iphone, between the hazzard button and SRM button. due to the rubber on the otterbox it doesnt move at all.

kenchan 01-13-2011 07:45 PM

I usually place mine in the cupholder too. I should get a car dock for my droidx...

Mine slides off from there with the otterbox on...

Maybe I should be a little easier on the corners?

theDreamer 01-14-2011 12:25 PM

Cup holder

TypeOne 01-14-2011 01:07 PM

Cupholder for mine too... but I hate that my arm hits it sometimes.

I'll also put it next to the ebrak... lay it down on its side and it puts it out of the way.

I have the iPhone 4.

did you need to use any washers for this install? :icon17: ;)

m4a1mustang 01-14-2011 02:02 PM

In the winter I just leave it in my jacket pocket since Sync will read my text messages to me and I can send them through the car, but otherwise I put my phone in the cup holder.

Haha, I do too. I blame it on how rounded the otterbox is for the 3GS though.

daisuke149 01-14-2011 02:36 PM

370Z Purist 01-14-2011 03:39 PM

I have the first gen Droid. Same size as an iPhone 4. It typically sits in the cupholder, or in the cubby, since I don't have a navi system. I once put it on the steering column, tucked under the gauge cluster, and it stays there. . . well, until I either: 1) turn too fast, or 2) get annoyed by the blinking LED notification light.

BenZ 01-14-2011 03:57 PM

Steering Column - Iphone. Works well with most BB's

sonic370 01-14-2011 08:23 PM

since i have the base i'm trying to come with maybe a phone mount of some kind inside where the nav would be. since i have a jvc bluetooth unit i really
don't have a need to pickup or grab for my iphone. but i would need to run the usb cable from the back of my unit up into the compartment.and then plug it into the phone for charging and playing music........

any ideas???

I got a bluetooth pay as you go phone, and keep it anywhere inside the car. I just need to turn on the phone and it pairs to the steering wheel. My gal always uses the cup holder for her stuff.

I saw a rear view mirror that has a blue tooth in it. Look for it here at the370z.com as a post.

jaedub 01-15-2011 01:40 PM

my phone and key goes in the cupholder everytime

I find that my pockets, jacket or pants, works really well for cell phone, fob, wallet, etc.

sonic370 01-15-2011 07:13 PM

well i went to my favorite audio installer today and had them run the usb cable from the back of my unit up into the cubby holder. so now i just plug my
iphone in sync the bluetooth close the door at its good to go. can control everything form the HU.............

houkouonchi 01-15-2011 08:57 PM

Do a lot of you guys have the GPS/navigiation system? I myself put my wallet, keys, and cell phone in that little area that the nav systems LCD screen would normally be.

I use to put my sunglasses in that cubby but now have a screen there and resort to putting them in the center console.

Forrest 01-16-2011 03:56 AM

I dont have Navigation so i custom cut a cardboard box to fit into the cubby hole to hold my T-Mobile G2 near perfectly. So most of the time i plug in Aux and slam it in the middle console and play music.

Check Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts*-*ProClip Car Mounts for Mobile Phones, GPS, and Handheld Devices ...I have mounts specifically designed for the Z for my phone on the A pillar and my nav on the console. Both work great.

I use one of these (console mounted) for my iPod. Works great!

ImportConvert 01-18-2011 04:46 AM

I always throw my cell in the cup-holder if the vehicle has one near the center console.

joseZhartford 01-18-2011 09:33 AM

cup holder
